Phantasy star portable 2 : OMG AWESOME!!!!!

Alright, so the demo for this game is out right now on the PSnetwork, and IT BLEW MY FUCKING MIND! I've been a fan of Phantasy star since the first one (although the fourth really was the best one) and the MMO series. For those of you who played the very first version of universe should totally get the demo. Heres a few tweaks and stuff they did to the gameplay:
-You can now dodge with "X". Theres an invulnerable frame during the dodge.
-You can block now. 2-handers (rifles and such included) and shields can block
-new weapon: shield (heh). You block with "R" (works like a secondary fire).
-New gimmick: perfect blocks can proc special effects from shields. You also receive 0 dmg if successful.
-New gimmick: Perfect counter can be executed after a perfect block.
-Chain combos now exist The higher the chain, the higher the damage on the next photon art. You can chain as a group.
-Online coop!! And if its like the demo, its also MOTHERFUKIN FREE! Also the offline coop is still there.
-New monsters, new environements, although the game is YET AGAIN in the PSU universe. Which means theres still some old monsters and old levels in there.
-More ways to customize your characters and your room
-Classes can now be customized. For instance, I could trade the ability to use handguns to be able to use wands on my hunter. Those "expand points" can be acquired by leveling your class.
-Theres now a "shared storage"
-The ability to trade is now possible (wasnt in Phantasy star portable 1). Although it can only be done with people you share partner cards with.
-Theres some new photon artes.
-Graphics improved since PSP1
-The border of the screen flash red when youre low on hp, making it easier to realize youre dying
-Theres a visual effect when you hit monster with its weak element (if you hit a fire monster with ice, you see chunks of ice flying off the monster when you hit)
-The PP (photon points) system changed. Now artes (melee weapons), guns (bullets), Rods (technic) all use the same bar. It empties rather quickly for some things, but it refills quickly. Also, melee attacks refills the bar very quickly with each hit. No more empty clips on guns and such.
-Refill points (before points) refill your health and such instantly, instead of healing you like 10-15%/3 second. Didnt test it that much, but it looks like it.
-New music and old tracks in there (and the opening is awesome, youtube it)
-You can now add ARMORS to the palette on a newly added 3rd bar. This is especially useful if you want specific armors for gunner or tecnic user, also for element protection against specific bosses.
-Armors have more open slots now (didnt see a single armor without at least 2 open slots for upgrades)
-You can now over upgrade your weapons and they can change after breaking the level 10 cap. Didnt test it yet though.
-Humans and Newmans now have a mirage blast. Now, im not sure if that was already implemented in PSP1, but, well, its there. It works pretty much like a SUV for Casts or a Beast form for the Beasts.
That about sums it up. Im in love with the demo, cant wait for the game to come out next month!!! Dunno if any of you guys/girls are gonna play this, but itd be awesome to exchange partner cards when it starts :) Also, there a few things that werent implemented in the demo, like the trading, so i dont exactly know how it works.

I love the Phantasy star games as well but I'm only getting this game so I can have a save on my psp from it so I can unlcok an extra character for Valkyria Chronicles 2

I have been reading about the game. I heard the Newman race is really underpowered in this game. Other than that this game is a huge improvement over the previous one.

So there's finally a us demo? I haven't been able to check psn since they family decide to switch to wpa2
hopefully we'll get the same extras that the jp version will get. I was pretty disappionted in ps0 since you can't obtain links shield and samus's arm cannon in the us version

There's still plenty of awesome stuff in there. Latest i found, if you buy a new haircut from the salon, you can get the Hatsune Miku cut. You even get the headset with it :)

Sweeeet! I Fell in love with PS:U just like the rest of you guys, but never got the chance to play Phantasy Star Portable. I might just have to pick it up and play through it before PSP2 releases (Sept 14).

Alright, I kept playing the demo for like 15 hours, its really addictive! I was trying to find out about a few things in the meantime: Can you use your demo characters in the full retail version of the game? Also, what is the catapult mode?
Well, here's a few things I got:
-Catapult mode is a comeback of PVP mode. Depending on your class, you get a set of weapons and duke it out with the opposing team. You get different ways to make points: kill an opponent, destroy their base, kill stray monsters on the map, capture nodes. I tried it, and with the added perfect block, the dodge and the rules, it feels great, its fun actually. Also, you unlock new maps the more you play.
-Online mode is still free in the full retail version. How it works: each copy comes with a code you link to your PSN account. Its a one time thing, so dont let your friend try the online on his account before you, cuz you're fucked. Also, the online from the demo should be offline when the full retail game comes out. Dunno if they gonna do it for the US version though.
-I read on a forum that you CAN use your character from the demo in the full retail version of the game. So hunting for the titles, the rare gear, grinding meseta... It should all come as useful next month when the game is released
-I also wanted to test the import feature, so i started a new game of PSP1. When you import a character you can actually modify a ton of stuff about them. You only keep the clothes/parts you had, no items, no weapon, no level, no meseta, no arts, etc... Although, I had a problem a texture loading problem in the character creation screen during the import. My character didnt show up if i was selecting some of the face models. Weird, dunno if its because its a demo. Anyway, here's the importing freebies you get:
-A title, which in turn gives you a nice decorative item for your room
-A sword called 'Exam'. It has the freeze ability and can hit multiple monsters at once, not too shabby for a 1-handed! Also, the design is pretty :)
-An addon for armor that gives 5 Stamina and a visual effect around your character (a ring of light spinning around your character). Thats pretty neat if you want to look pimp online heh

pretty much everything is explained in game story wise. Like whats the seed, the endrum collective, whos ethan waber and bla bla... actually the story in psp2 is the best one up to date (my taste)
also, theres the return of monsters from PSO if youve played that one :)

Alrighty, been playing this for around 6 hours, the game is really fun. Can't wait to try the online mode. No WiFi around this shithole place I'm living now.

it is a freakin blast online. The missions arent too long, so it doesnt become too tedious. its also easier to manage your inventory (the fact you can also send stuff to your shared storage at any time helps a lot!).
The best Phantasy star up to date for me, although i cant wait to have something thats not in the gurrhal system, im tired of the same 3 planets and whatnot... But the experience is still totally out of this world!
