Well sometimes i have to use pirated games and software such as Windows, etc.
Why? Because it's really expensive and i can't afford that kind of expenses. ;_;
That's where torrents come in.
So, do you use pirated stuff, or are you hardcore legitimate-copy-user?

HOnestly Both, and in my special cases if I CAN FIND a legal copy of it, I'll buy it.

I pirate quite a few things, music, movies, games, the works. But if i stumble upon say... a rare game that i know i will never find again in 6 months or so (disgaea 2 for ps2) im going to pick it up. but until then I pirate them. Or I pirate it, and if i like it ill buy it to support the company so they make more (Izuna DS, FF series, Disgaea)

I only really buy the things that I have mad love for, everything else I usually pirate, although i do prefer to own the game it's self, but hey I'm not made of money.

seems everyone here is only aware of the PS1/PS2 era where you have games being churned out at $40-50 new...

Back in the SNES/Genesis era, a cartridge could have cost you up to $80..

But it's easy to see where the whole debate comes from, given how not everyone makes a lot of money and it's really tight these days.

lol i only started buying legit games ever since my brother went straight legit for all our ps2 games

so i have no idea how much snes cartridges were, i used to play snes ufo

I never even seen SNES/N64/GC/Sega Saturn until i brought PS2.

And yeah, they should lower the prices even more because like: i would better buy a SNES game for 80 cuz it's 70% epic rather than buy a new shitty PS3 game for 50 which will suck simply because it was :1) unfinished 2)bugs prevent you to enjoy it *Fallout 3 GOTY example* 3)the game was simply made as a cheap sequel to an epic game just to get money from fans.

I would rather not, I only use pirated anything if it's near unattainable from where I live.

I used to think the PS1 games that I buy are what others everywhere buy as well but I found out... they're pirated!!

I usually just purchase my games, though I do own a few ROMs... I'm still trying to find ROMs of Earthbound and Mother 3. If you pirate games, just make sure you don't get caught and everything is good (unless you're a game developer).

I try to buy most of the games. Though i download games on PC time to time. Like recently, ME2.

I prefer and usually purchase stuff, but I do both.
