why does it say Initializing DirectDraw failed

I believe that's a DirectX problem. not positive tho. What version of Direct X do you have installed?

im useing the one that come with this game

Yes.

I keep getting the white screen stop responding screen of death, and ive tried everything to fix it

I tried;
- using Applocale
- reinstalling
- redownloading
- starting the game over
- downloading CCCP
- using the crack
- getting the .exe from my friend who played the game perfectly on his laptop
- restarting the game
- TRYING to set my system and the game to japanese (not sure if it actually worked)

I did everything the vista site and my vista-pro friend said
eg: control panel -> change keyboard and other input method -> change keyboards -> and 'Add' Japanese from the list, apply all of that, launch Princess Waltz, change the "EN" to "JP",start(and/or load) my game, get to the scene were im about to fall off the roof, reach up to grab Chris's hand, and than white screen and me crying on the floor T_T

Well first off, this games doesn't need to be in a Japanese setting. It has been translated and made for english systems so applocale and all that other stuff was pointless. As for your actual problem... don't know what to tell you. I have Vista and I was able to play it just fine when I had it.

What version of vista are you using? This game runs fine on my vista-equipped laptop, but then again I'm running the original 32-bit version. If yours is the newer 64-bit version of vista, then you have my sympathies. Try changing the OS settings to 32-bit mode. It may get it to work. The 64-bit 'improved upgrade' has more than just a few compatibility issues, it's got the whole fucking subscription, you know what I'm sayin'?

Im using Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612)according to XFire :p Ive always assumed i had the 32 bit :P

Remember to have all your DirectX up to date before playing this game. Also reinstalling a game usually fixes bugs. Some issues simply can't be resolved. Also comp specs can effect a game.
