So like, my iPod died and I can't charge it... why? My charging wire is messed up and doesn't work anymore and I kinda don't wanna buy a new one... so :D can't play.
If it's still under warranty, Apple should be able to help fix the battery.
From what it seems like, your battery lost it's life and won't charge anymore. This is a common problem with most internal battery gadgets these days due to the fact that the battery gets old, wears down, and does not hold it's charge anymore.
If you don't have a warranty for it, or it has already pasted it's warranty date, you can always bring it back to an Apple store, ask them how much they would trade it for a new one.
If it's too expensive, then I am truly sorry, there's nothing else I can help tell you at this point, but hopefully the facts that were given to you were proven helpful. :)
