I found the later games specifically Deadlocked to be purely destruction and less clever platforming. Maybe that's why the first 2 games stuck with me more.
I liked Deadlocked
because it was almost purely combat based. I'm a real sucker for explosions. After playing R&C3 like 60+ times, I found it to become boring at the beginning, especially with the Hacker puzzles, because it was heavily story-based and not enough action. Deadlocked was a welcome make-up for that, especially since I could modify the weapons how I wanted and they upgraded to level 99. The game's not for everyone though, I guess.
Now that I just got my PS3, which of the 3 games do you guys think is worth grabbing?
I'd say A Crack In Time, it introduces a new version of th Charge boots, gets rid of crouch in favour of a "Wrench-ready" position, Clank plays a bigger part in the game and has new abilities, and the game in general is just a shitload of fun. Especially since you can set oil you set down by the Omnisoaker alight by Hyperstriking it. Always fun to see enemies die by fire. Oh and the RYNO V plays part of the 1812 Overture when it gets fired.
However if you're one of those people (like me) who want to get the in-game references, paticuarly since it's the last game in the Future trilogy, get them all.
