Personally I can't wait for guitar hero world tour. I like rock band but being a drummer i can't help but drool over actually using cymbals in game!!! I'm not saying rock band is bad, i'm just saying I prefer guitar hero, and i always have.
Also, I heard a rumor that both sets of instruments are compatible with either game. I don't see how it'll work for the drums. and do you think rock band and guitar hero can learn to get along? share songs maybe possibly?! Hopefully they can, cuz i respect 'em both.
well, i dont really care about Guitar hero world tour cause in my Game informer it said RB2 is going to have 500 songs... no offense but i play the guitar and i would rather have 500 songs then symbols on the drums..
I prefer Rock Band. Since I haven't played World Tour, yet, I can't say for sure. But like Guru said, the way that they've allowed all RB songs to be playable on RB2 is great. The tour mode is a blast, and rocker customization is nice. I really like the RB2 songs, but just like before, I haven't looked at a complete song list for World Tour, so I can't say one's better than the other.
I also prefer the RB guitar, but it seems that I'm one of the few.
I'm going to go with Rock Band 2. I like the fact that all past and future DLCs will be compatible with each other and also that there's going to be like 500 songs by year's end or there already is. I like that you can import your songs from the first disk for only $5. That is a freakin good deal if you ask me. The new game modes are good like No Fail. I mean if its a party game, No Fail mode is a must because its not gonna be a real party game if only the good people are enjoying it and the new are trying to but can't because of the lack of skill.
The drums for Rock Band 2 will have 3 cymbals. They are optional and is compatible with the Rock Band 1 drum set. If the cymbals are plugged in for RB2 then the game will recognize it and change it to 8 notes instead of the usual 5. The new guitar has auto-calibration which means no more guessing what kind of tv you have. Oh yeah, the new drum set has a switchable "brain" meaning if you go out and buy a separate thing for it, you can hook it up to your computer and learn how to play real drums because it can detect velocity and stuff like that. One more thing, the kick pedal is also reinforced so now it won't break so easily.
I just had to put this info out there in case some of you people didn't know that.
