Should I get an android for portable emulation?

Simple question really. I want to have an portable emulation device so I can play some of my favorite games on the go. I heard android can do that. I'll likely get a small tablet and use those old Bluetooth wireless controllers I has for my PC a while back.
So what's your opinion? Does an android device work well for emulation?

If you need a phone, definitely.
If you don't need a phone it is questionable. But I have found that having an Android fulfills a lot of my emulation needs pretty easily. I have an S3 and it can easily handle up through PSX (I haven't tried beyond that). S1 could do the same four years ago too and I'm sure it's only getting better.
Battery can be real concern though if you intend on emulating heavily, so I would recommend getting a portable chargeable battery (like a portable phone charger). It will help deal with that issue. iOs doesn't escape this battery issue either.
I've heard PSPs are a good way to go about emulating, but I think you need to mod it which I don't know much about. But I do have a friend that swears by it.

It works. So far I have DS, PSP, snes, PSX, etc running on my S3 and it's running them all flawlessly... except for the PSP, it lags a bit. But on my Nexus 7 it runs everything smoothly.

There is an android tablet modeled directly after the PSP with buttons and everything.
I don't really plan on putting anything above the 16bit era of gaming, so most tablets these days should run that stuff no problem.
