Sims 3 Installation Help?

Im not sure if this is the right place for this, but if it is not I am sorry... But feel free to report this post to be moved to the right section!

So I am downloading sims 3, and i plan to get the expansions of supernatural and island paradise. But my question is, is there anything version related that my hinder me from playing the expansions? I am just getting the one from RAZOR but the expansions I am downloading is coming from some other uploader.

Basically what i am trying to know here is, will i be able to play the expansions after installing sims 3 then just installing the expansions afterwards? Will there be no errors whatsoever when i install it? Or is there something that i need to do before i can play the game + expansion packs?

Sorry, I dont really know much about sims 3 yet, but I would greatly appreciate it if any of you guys could help me out here.
