Woot, Persona is getting it's remake for the PSP~
It's gonna be alot better than it's original that was released in 1996 which the US version totally killed it by replacing much of the stuff trying to 'westerenize' it.
It's to be release for NA this fall~!

Persona's gameplay will be very similar to the original, Revelations: Persona, with only a few exceptions.
Like the games in the Megami Tensei series, battles in Persona need not always be about fighting. Instead, the player has the option to "Contact" the demons they encounter in an attempt to communicate with them. However, certain enemies (usually bosses and human-type enemies) cannot be contacted no matter how much the player might try. Each playable character has a set of different Contact commands, which will affect the selected demon in one of four ways: Joy, Anger, Fear or Interest. There are occasional questions posed by the demon, and the chosen answer will also have an effect on its mood. By making a demon interested three or four times in a row, they will offer the player their "Spell Card". These Cards can be used in the mystical Velvet Room to summon new Persona.
Battles are also from a third-person view. Each party member is confined to a space on a grid, which dictates the range of their attacks and where they can move during their turn. Ranged weapons can travel over many 'squares' to hit an enemy, while melee attacks are confined to one square. Enemy demons are positioned in front and rear lines on the grid; When the front line is defeated, the rear line advances to take their place.
I have to wait until Fall?
I'll be stealing my brother's PSP, when the time comes.
Same here! The PSPs kind of like the Wii to me - there are a handful of games I'd really like and then the rest of the games aren't even slightly appealing to me. Fortunately, my little brother has a PSP but I'll have to go back to my parents house to play on Persona which will seem a bit weird to them, I'm sure. I don't think he'll like me having it here even though he hardly uses it.
I'm looking forward to this because the first two Persona seem darker than P3 and P4 (and I don't mean in the silly way that most modern games try to be dark) but then on the other hand, I HATE the old-school first-person dungeon thing, as also seen in SMT1, SMT2 and SMT: If..., to name a few examples. Also, no S.Links - that might feel strange. On the bright side, each character has a number of different Persona they can choose between which should add a bit more variety and strategy.
Took me long enough to run it on CFW. But now that I've done it,what can i say.
At first i was disappointed that this game will get the same kind of soundtrack as P3~4, because i really hated that......pop? But now that i played it this sounds pretty good so far. World map has been improved lol at least now you can understand where are you.Battle system *havent undergone many changes but* became faster which cannot be bad.
I am looking forward to a good old school competition.
Playing it, enjoying it, though i must say its taking me awhile to understand the mechanics, *sigh* now i know why my brother spent so many hours playing the original game in the PS1.(I only started playing when Persona 3 FES came out)
Overall: Game Rocks. to my great surprise OST rocks too. I will definitely buy it licensed when they start selling it in Finland. Must have for every PSP owner.
I've decided to take a break from playing Disgaea 2 and decided to try out Persona since I haven't played it since I've bought it. It's a little hard to adjust to the first person view(?) running through the halls, I'm reminded of some of the pc games I used to watch in like costco, etc back in the day.
Lol, I got faked out. When you're given the option of saving the scientist or having him burn in hell with the Antagonist or not I thought that was it, but you get sent to another dimesion.
Now the hawt demons don't want to give me their spell cards because I've mostly scared off the monsters instead of fighting them.
