So, it turns out that Battlefront 3 has been officially cancelled, as in it is in no longer in hiatus. Here is the HOUR-long link to some of the gameplay: An Hour of Star Wars
The fact that it is so close to being completed and having the plug pulled pisses me off. I hope I can find a link to that beta. I'll play if even if I could only use one class.
What a bunch of idiots. They can have advertising by just announcing it officially and having it spread by word of mouth. It's known to be very popular, so they wouldn't have to worry at all about that.
Gameplay aside, this article tells us nothing we didn't already know. Ex Free Radical devs have said in the past that the game was practically done in 2008, when LucasArts decided to pull the plug, due to them running over schedule and being overly ambitious (real time ground to space battle transition).
There was even an in house video before the studio tanked criticising LA execs. The project was handed to another studio, and this article doesn't mention them at all. So it could still be in development. There was an excellent article which detailed the death of project and studio over at Eurogamer.
Played Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, found the 1 simpler than the 2 but not better, i had spectations and promises for this Battlefront. Got disappointed with the notice that it had been cancelled... Seems i'll have to keep on living with the 2.
