Just got my copy in the mail today. I'll probably start within the next few days. Also how's the voice acting? I'm not really expecting it to be amazing but is it at least somewhat decent or tolerable?
Mate, the post right above yours talks about the VA work.
But to expound a little on what I said: All of the voice actors seem well done, with not only fitting voices but good acting. Richard's VA is the only VA that seems to have some trouble, but it's not very distracting at all.
Since the game's mouth movement is synced to Japanese audio (of which there is none now), some lines of dialogue will finish just a second or two after the mouth has closed. Again, not very distracting and totally understandable. If you played Atlus's "Catherine" you'd get the general idea of how that works.
Oh wow I feel dumb now. I was trying to avoid any spoilers but missed the obvious answer above. Alright well as long as the voice work is good then that's always a plus. And yeah I've played Catherine before. That game had excellent voice work.
Ah, no worries. I've derped far worse, and I understand not wanting to get spoiled. Neither do I.
I'll say that the voice work isn't as natural as that in Catherine (and by that I mean it doesn't sound almost as if it was professionally ad libbed), but it does flow just as well. I'm sure that if you're the type to care about such a thing you'll enjoy the voice work here.
Matter of fact, the same voice actor who voiced the disembodied narrator in Catherine has a prominent role in this game as well. Everyone is very well cast.
This won't be another Arc Rise Fantasia, trust me.
