Probably the best news I've read all week next to having my faovirte comedian read my email. Thanks for posting that. A new Tlaes game is always good, haven't played a weak one yet.
Mikurio, voiced by Osaka Ryota and designed by Mutsumi Inomata, is main character Slay’s rival and close friend. He is 165 centimeters tall and uses a rod in battle. He’s from the Family of Heaven, and part of his role is to calmly point out Slay’s erratic behavior. His Heaven Echo techniques take on the water attribute.
Since he’s from the Family of Heaven, Mikurio can be seen by Slay, but normal humans can’t see him. His quote in the magazine reads: “Slay is that kind of guy. Even as his childhood friend, it’s nerve-wracking to watch him.”
The Family of Heaven are pure beings that act like a material vessel, and can naturally manipulate the sounds of heaven. They’re supposed to be almost immortal and never aging. Is Mikurio like that, too?
and the title for oddest name within the Tales series goes to~
But seriously, Zestiria is the best they could come up with?
"Unlike the previous entry in the series, Tales of Xillia, Tales of Zestiria returns to a pure fantasy setting, with Baba saying that players would get to experience the "zest" of the story with new characters and locations."
Oh, so it really is meant as a pun..
Found the quote on wiki but following the actual source it looks more like the reporter is the one making a bad pun.

Edna, voiced by Misato Fukuen and designed by Minorushi Iwamoto, is 145cm and wields an umbrella. All along, she has lived alone in the Family of Heaven. She likes to use language with a flat effect to mess around with and confuse people. Edna doesn’t really trust other people. She seems to be especially wary of humans.
Outside of Edna, the magazine also offers details on the sacred mountain of Leifolk. This is one of the continent’s tallest mountains, which is also the object of peoples’ faith. This is a danger zone where where peoples’ prayers are as intense as a dragon’s fang, but why is Edna in a place like this? Thunder roars frequently here, and legend states it’s home to a dragon.
Yeah, as a whole I like the design of Edna's character. Certainly seems like the type that will have to learn to accept others as the game goes along, but that's not a bad development path.
Lailah, voiced by Miyu Matsuki and designed by Mutsumi Inomata, is an adult woman who provides advice as an instructor. Sometimes, however, her mind tends to run wild with strange delusions. She has been waiting for someone with the qualities of a doshi, and signs a marriage contract with Slay after a fateful meeting. By her becoming a vessel of the Family of Heaven, Slay acquires a special power to calm the brutal Hyoma.
Additionally, the magazine also reveals the game’s catch copy and genre. Its catch copy is “Legend will one day become †˜hope.’” As for its genre, it’s an RPG, of course, but Tales games are usually assigned their own sub-genre of RPG. This one is a “Passion that Illuminates the World RPG.”
The more I see this the more I get really excited for it, however I am just PRAYING that it will end up like Xillia which felt really rushed due to the 15th Anniversary and with this game being the 20th Anniversary that I'm really worried for.
Eeeeeh I'm a maybe on this one. I love the tales series but I feel that it hasn't been as good lately. Symphonia and Abyss were high points but Xillia just felt lacking in content. It literally had no extra content in addition to having a lot of maps really feel the same. That doesn't mean it is a bad game, it still is in third place...but a distant third.
Xillia 2 I heard was worse. I suppose the good thing about Xillia is that it has the most likable characters for a tales game in a while. Jude and Milla were awesome.
I'll be approaching this with cautiousness. It isn't exactly an almost guaranteed great Jrpg like X seems to be shaping up to be. Seriously, Xenoblade Chronicles is the best Jrpg I've played in a long time.
Dezel, voiced by Daisuke Ono and designed by Daigo Okumura, is 185cm tall and wields a Pendulum. He is a Family of Heaven member of the wind attribute, and a man who works in the shadows of human society in order to track down and get revenge on the Hyouma who took a friend.
In battle, he moves in a calculated manner by covering the surrounding area with his Pendulum. He can perform Heaven Echo Artes from afar both vertically and laterally.
Dezel’s quote reads: “I’ll say this much: you’d better stay out of my way. I don’t care if you’re a doshi, I won’t tolerate your interference.”
Three new battle system elements are also introduced. First, there’s the self-explanatory “Around Step.” Then there’s the “Blast Gauge,” which when used, players can recover health and push away enemies. Finally, there’s the “Spirits Chain,” which lets players freely combine attacks while draining the gauge.
A new dungeon, the Damunonia Art Museum, is also shown.
Tales first villian that uses what looks like an Evoker for a weapon and feels like he belongs in a Persona game more than a Tales game.
Spoiler:
Bandai Namco’s annual Tales of Festival started not too long ago, and the publisher showed off the latest trailer for Tales of Zestiria, revealing the newest character Zabeeda, who looks to be a villain standing in the way of Slay and friends.
Tales of Zestiria’s Trailer PV 3
The trailer starts out with a look at Slay and Miclio encountering Zabeeda, who seems to know about Slay being a Monk (Doushi). He then mysteriously pulls out a gun and shoots himself… in the head… hmm.
Slay then narrates how the world has many legends that have yet to be revealed, and that they are not journeying for the purpose of being Doushi, but for themselves.
Next, they show Alicia asking Slay if she can be his retainer. After getting help from Laila, it appears that Alicia is then able to see those of the Heavenly Tribe. The video then gives us a closer look at all the other Heavenly Tribe characters, followed by a look at some battle scenes.
If you’re wondering about what’s going with Slay at the 2:18 mark, it’s a new ability that involves fusing with a character from the Heavenly Tribe, and control their elemental attribute at will.
After seeing the party run into more trouble with Zabeeda, the trailer ends with a first look at a dragon, which is one of the game’s key features, as seen on the logo.
Tales of Zestiria TV Special Anime Trailer
Spoiler:
Additionally, the band “Superfly” will also be doing the theme songs for the Tales of Zestiria anime. More details on the anime will be revealed in the near future.
That seemless exploration to battle transition. The camera seems to be a bit too close to the action, hopefully that can be customized. Graphically, looks like an upgrade on Xillia, the fields looks more lively. Hope my PS3 still holds up.

This reminds me of Breath of Fire 3, where you get to fight the enemy on the exact location you have encountered it, but it's not going to give you a different separate field to battle.

Did I see it wrong or did they just merge for a short momment during battle?
