Terraria

Now in Snow Edition!

Speaking of the snow edition. We just finished the last few things on the house. Thanks to Bartre for helping me get all the sand so we could turn it into snow. And also for coming up with the idea of using glass to make it look like the water has frozen over.

Had to be pretty careful with the wiring, because you can apparently blow doors open. You don't get the full effect here since the lights don't blink on and off.

So, I installed Steam today (better late than never, right?) and this game caught my interest. Been meaning to buy it since it's on sale, but I'm still not sure. What's is this game about? I have read that its an open world game, so is it like an open world game like, let's say Skyrim or Fallout, in 2D graphics or something else?

It's like a 2-D version of Minecraft. If you don't know what Minecraft is then....

Terraria is a free-build game where you can build whatever you want. You can build a house, a tower for designs, anything really. But there's more to it than that. You can summon bosses and fight them, go down into caves and explore them and find treasure chests and loot them. Go to hell if you dig deep enough (Not so sure though. I've only heard the Creatures and the Yogscast talk about it. I haven't watched the video where they actually went to Hell or if they even did). You can also craft items, smelt ores, and cook. I don't know about hunger though. I've never played Terraria before, but I have played Minecraft and they similar, but they also have features that the other one doesn't have. And yes, it is an open world game.

Does this still live? I purchased Terraria on the last day of xmas sales. 3 Hours in SP so far... For something so simple it seems surprisingly fun.

I've been tryin' to acquire this game, unfortunately for me my only bartering tool after the Christmas event on steam is a single game called 'Luxor: 5th passage' which no one wants xD
Terraria looks like a lot of fun though.

Server went down for awhile since i was on vacation but it's back up now. To be honest we kind of stopped playing it. When you have alot of people on one world you burn through the game... really fast. We pretty much have all the gear, so building is the only thing to do now. And we kind of stopped all of a sudden.

I guess I'll muck around in SP for the time being. Learn to suck less... :D

Kind of surprised this wasn't bumped seeing as 1.2 is due to come out before october according to re-digits twitter.

I either need someone to toss me Guide Voodoo Dolls or someone to help me kill Wall of Flesh, anyone who can help with either please reply? D:
