I've been looking at the source code for the last while, documentation is scarce but the code is not extremely complex or poorly written, it should be easy for most to work with and improve upon. I'm hoping someone goes a step further than modding, that we may actually see a couple of new games come out of this.

Can't say I really liked any of their games, so it won't be a big lost to me, hopefully those people get hired elsewhere tho, that's a pretty bad move for those employees.

Translations: "Though we say we respect the developers, we just want their name for our shitty products (screw those people). That's why we'll get rid of everyone we don't need. Lucas Art's just needs to shut up and look pretty till were done with it! We don't need "talent" we just need to refine our same shit with a new name, and some more popular content, to boost it a little (only a little), people will see that were just as good, but better. People loved us in Kingdom Hearts (invading and defiling Final Fantasy) under Square Enix name, wait till they see Disney raping Vader from behind for 10 years, they'll love us!"
Note: I liked the gameplay from Kingdom Hearts, otherwise it was a convoluted mess (to me) Xehanort settings/background for example.
I liked Battle Front and Knight of the Old Republic. So I don't feel like I'm losing anything, I just really hate Disney, those soulless -blanks-.
