I got a simple question. I never played or seen any Idolm@ster franchise but i've seen alot of ppl orgasming about it. So... what's so great about it or rather, what's this game about?
well let me put it in gameplay steps, because it's easy to expand the explanation that way. (THis is the Idolmaster SP version that I'm explaining)
1. After naming your Character (usually he's called "Producer") You need to pick one from all the available 10 Idol candidates.
2. routine scheduling:
-You pick her schedule, Training (Mini games), Interviews, PR events (Memory & mood events), Auditions, Breaks, and vacations.
3. Your Goal, is to get as many fans till the appointed date, you can also make a specific target that will boost your popularity a Producer (your keep your Producer level for next plays), by promising the Idol some things, like "Make her a Rank S Idol, and make her sing in Budokan"
well, that's the gameplay, what most people like is the "socializing" factor, and the personal story that resolves around it.
The SP, was quite good, because rather than just "Raising your idol", out of the blue, you suddenly get a rival group and a nice story that revolves around it.
