Resonance of Fate...
The story was all over the place, slow to completely stagnant til the very end, and barely answered anything out of the list of questions it arouses.... I barely understand what they even achieved in the end.
Who's the little girl with horns?
What is she? Why does she drink blood?
Why does the scientist keep her around?
What is her goal?
She claims Vashyron is of her kind, what is he? (considering he thinks he's human and shows nothing to hint otherwise.)
Who was the girl who died and people mourn?
How did she die?
Why was she important?
What does it have to do with the experiment of the 20?
What does those experiments have to do with Mecha-God?
Why do the experiments die at 20?
Did they achieve their goal from the experiments?
What is Zephyr? Why does Mecha-God play favorites with him?
Can he die at all, or just couldn't die in the fight with Vashyron?
Why did he go on a killing spree?
Is he psychotic with homicidal tendencies?
Why wasn't he imprisoned? Why would Vashyron adopt him?
Why do people live in such a place?
Why can't people go back to earth?
Why was such a place built?
Why was Mecha-God built?
What's his connections to quartz? Why does Mecha-God decide who lives and dies?
How does Mecha-God decide it?
Does it have a will?
Is it destroyed in the end?
How does everyone (who dies), just suddenly, revive?
What was the final battle for? A rage filled "vengeance" assault? What were they hopping to accomplish?
They couldn't exist without Mecha-God, is what they established, which somehow tied them to quarts that if destroyed killed the person, but with the final battle, the attempt to kill the leader of the government-ish(?)/religious-ish(?), somehow frees everyone of quartz control... How? What does that mean for Mecha-God? So fucking confused... I poured 88 hours into this game hoping that at the end I'd get at least 1 of these questions answered... Fuck...
How come the "FIN" shows them on a mountain/hill overlooking a sea coast? They got out of the tower? How? Why? What stopped them from doing so before that is no longer stopping them?
Question from the very beginning, how did Leann and Zephyr survive the fall, considering they had no parachute and must have been reaching escape velocity.
This game was my worst experience with a game... yet. I feel I wasted a lot of time and anger for no reward. I didn't expect much from tri-ace (story wise), considering they did Till the End of Time, but... While I never once experienced a glitch or bug (solid designers in their team), they were very uninspired with the placement of their pieces (ally and enemies) across the map, introducing mechanics they almost never use in the game. Gravity, destructible environments and body parts, cover, battlefield design, concealing presence, 3rd party AI, AI that moves across battlefields.
And the theatrics only made some conflicts even more frustrating... "shooting from behind cover to have the character jump back and shoot the wall instead (destroying the cover them-self)...".
Graphics are great, theatrics are cool (looking), voice acting is probably some of the best I've heard (comparing to Till the End of Time... So bad...), Gun-play is fun, for the first half of the game (ignoring bosses and opt-bosses). That's all I can say for the game...
