I always felt like the ending of the first Golden Sun is depressing. You spend the entire game going around, trying to save the world, helping villages, and trying to atone for your mistake, all while the world goes to hell.

Limbo is also pretty depressing. you go through the sad dead world and you may or may not be dead throughout the entire thing. thats not really a spoiler, they dont tell you anything at any point.

I don't know... MGS3 was pretty bad... I mean you knew what was going to happen but..

Saya no uta's ending was beautiful IMO.

Depressing: Megaman zero 4's ending
Most depressing: Metroid: Other M - Sector zero scene between adam and samus.

Well I was thinking more about what happened to everyone else. Not gonna lie my first thought was "that's gotta suck". I have a weird way of viewing VNs.

What about the original FF7? They did all that hard fighting losing companions and constantly falling behind while fighting a battle on like (3?) fronts then have to fight an army and a demigod only to fail as the world ended up having to save itself while killing off millions(and in its apparent sequel they failed even further and indirectly caused a plague)
