Myself i think that was a damn good list, sure it didn't have all the tracks i wanted to be there, but given the circumstances it was a great list, all the tracks were real classics :P
I had goosebumps during the whole video, no joke.
Im especially glad that they chose to give The Moon-theme from Duck Tales a spot on there, that song fuckin defines awesome 8-bit music.
Their #1 theme song was a given if you ask me, nothing beats that theme, nothing.
I won't say what it is though :D
Pretty good list, but I think didn't think #9 was all that special. And #2? There are so many more rocking themes in that series than that one. >.>
Motherfucker be dissing DKC??
And #2 is pretty much one of the most classic VG-tunes ever, even in a game-series with pretty much only epic tunes, but yeah, i'd say there are atleast a couple of other tunes on that tracks level.
The Ducktales moon theme makes that list an instant winner in my eyes (or ears)
Also, Ridley's battle theme or Ending theme > Metroid's title screen. That's the only choice I disagree with.

Pretty Nintendo centric list, pretty hard to miss the bias there. I didn't miss something where they were only picking songs from games that had been on Nintendo systems, right? Most of them are good though, aside from that Duke Nukem song. I played Duke Nukem 3D all the time when I was young, and the theme only rings a bell in relation to the Duke Nukem Trilogy trailer.
And I've never played that Duck Tails game, but I can't argue with the BGM.

No bias, they just happen to have teh most epic tunes on their 8/16-bit systems.
The list(and music) speaks for itself.
All Nintendo Games??...I Only agreed with that Secret of Mana Theme, other than that, I cant comment coz i never played most of them...
My personal favorite is CyberConnect's game Musics (.Hack/, Naruto Shippuden Narutimate Accel Series, etc)...

I largely agree, but once again, Shenmue. And that goes double since you used the word 'epic'.
Whoa that list must have been hard to make only accepting 1 entry per franchise!!
(bear in mind I'm typing as I watch the video)
FINAL FANTASY 8TH PLACE??? SECRET OF MANA 7TH?
Hmm I didn't play the game in #6th spot so I can't really comment that one.
Haha Mario #5th to be honest I thought it would be higher up in the list but it's true that almost anyone knows that song. Even people who've only played the game once or not at all will remember it or recall it in some way or the other.
4th Super Metroid; Yes gotta agree with this one. Very good theme put you into the ambiance and the setting very well.
3rd Sorry but I gotta disagree. Completely missed it. I really don't see what's great about this tune and ESPECIALLY for it to be in 3rd place.
2nd Wow I gotta say I thought Megaman tunes any of them would be high in the list I thought first though. And they chose a good one too. 8bit Megaman games have some of the most epic music.
1st What is there to say? I had chills while awaiting the verdict. Who would take home the Prize of First Place?
Of course the Legend of Zelda deserves this spot. Like he said; be it 8bit 16 bit 64 or New Gen this theme just says : CLASSIC and that is something no one can deny.
10th and 9th place are pretty much spots that could have been any type of game there. Though I gotta say DK on super famicom had great songs. The songs made the stages and I remember VERY WELL how stressed I could get from those songs in certain areas and in some boss fights.
Now I'm gonna do a top 3 of my own because doing more than that would be a bother for everyone I think.
#3 This goes to SEIKEN DENSETSU 3 from the Secret of Mana series. If you've never played the game I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT.
The theme is the Opening theme of the game: Meridian Child.
Here it is:
Orchestrated version
Game version
Seriously take the time to listen to them and tell me what you think of it. The game was released on Super Famicom in Japan only.
#2 I give this spot to Chrono Trigger
(this is a site where you can listen to most of the songs from the game http://www.fantasyanime.com/squaresoft/ctmusic.htm)
My choice was a tie between two themes
Chrono Trigger Theme (Orchestrated)
Magus' theme
#1 This spot goes to the Final Fantasy franchise. They have made EPIC games all of them in their own unique way. I though had a very hard time deciding which songs I liked most FF6(FF3) or FF7.
In the end I chose Final Fantasy VII now don't flame me for chosing this game. I really think it has some of the best songs a game ever had and also remember this is my personnal best 3. Also I really had a hard time choosing (REALLY HARD TIME spend almost an hour listening over and over again to the songs.). In the end the song that takes my number one gold medal is:
Aerith's Theme.
The reason why this Final Fantasy was so popular why there was even a movie made about it and why it's a CLASSIC RPG. Aerith is the sole reason. Also her Theme is amazing.
There hope you enjoyed.
EDIT: I just can't believe that no Street Fighter themes where put in there. I just realised that and I just can't believe it.
I played the hell out of Donkey Kong Country when I was a kid, and I have to say, it deserves its spot on the list. The tune they picked may not have been the best, but that game had so much great music. It wasn't that one or two songs sounded fantastic and fit the mood of the level - nearly every single song was good.
The number one choice was obvious, and I would have been pissed if it hadn't been number one. That is the single most epic song in video games, because even people who don't play video games at all know the song.
