Utawarerumono (English) (Voice patch)

Story:
A man wakes up wounded in a small village of animal-people, where he is being nursed back to health by a girl, Eruruu, and her family. However, he cannot remember anything of his past: how he came to be wounded in the forest, his own name, or why or how a mysterious mask came to be attached to his face, unable to be removed. Eruruu's grandmother gives him a name -- Hakuoro -- and he is invited to stay at the village.
In debt to these people, and with nowhere else to go having no memories, Hakuoro stays with the village and helps the people, bringing harvest to their barren fields. However, the land is being brought into war, and the feudal lord hears of these rumors and starts collecting their food as a tax. Hakuoro then finds himself entwined with these people and the uprising of a revolt army, all while wondering just who he really is.

[color=green]Instructions[/color]
- Extract the files. Mount "[Utawarerumono].iso" in the "Main Game" folder. DO NOT run the disk installer. Go to the "English patch" folder and run "Uta_installer.exe". The patch installer will install the game already in english. You may need to manually select the drive where tou mounted "[Utawarerumono].iso".
- To install the voice patch copy the "UTSOUND.SFS" from the "Voice file" folder to the folder where you installed the game. After that go to the "Voice Patch" and also copy "utaware-voice.dll" and "utaware-voice.exe" to the game folder. Run "utaware-voice.exe" to play the game in english and with voices.

okay... confused... is the voice patch is a patch? or is it already a game which has voice? or should i download those 2 parts to patch the 1st 2 parts? to have voice?

Follow the instructions on the thread and follow the instructions of the read me files and you shouldn't have any trouble. Just ask if you need more help.

[size=12]Having a little trouble installing - unpacked the Uta-V.exe and the .dll file to C:Program Files:Utawarerumono, as well as the sound file, but when trying to start up the exe I get an error message 'cannot find necessary file'...which isn't very helpful, as it doesn't tell me what particular file it can't find.
To clarify exactly what I've done so far;
-Mounted ISO.
-Installed with English Patch
-Unpacked UTSOUND.SFS, Uta_V.exe and Uta_V.dll, and copied over to C;Program Files;Utawarerumono
-Attempted to start game with Uta_V.exe
-Failt.
Is there anything wrong with the above? I've already redone the whole process, but perhaps I am placing the wrong files in the wrong place, or something like that.
The game proper using the original exe works absolutely fine, and whilst it would be nice to have the voices, it won't stop me playing the game, so no real problem, just a bit of a nuisance.
Oh, and if it helps, I'm using Vista 32bit.

Super Double Awesome Edit; I'm not sure if I should be sorry for this or not, but I've fixed the problem - the .dll file comes named as Uta_V.dll when it in fact, as the readme states, should be named utaware_voice.dll - so, if anyone has the same problem as me, renaming the dll file should fix it.[/h]

Seems as tho I forgot to rename those files. Either way I will fix the problem. I will reupload the voice links with the corrected name. Also @Niyx you need to start checking your in box for messages.
EDIT: All fixed now, just redownload the voice patch if you're having the missing file pop up problem.

Ok, so I joined it with HJsplit. I'm not sure where exactly i should put the file called UTSOUND.SFS (1.242 GB) I tried putting it in the Utawarerumono folder, but I can't seem to get it working.

It will be in C:\\ Program files Utawarerumono I believe. You also put the voice_patch.exe and the .dll file in the same place. All three must be in the folder that Utawarerumono made in your C:\\ hard drive for it to work. If you need more help just ask.

All hail! My second favorite anime in HG form, I have to say finding that out was like a godsend, but having the entire HGame version with an english voice patch available in 3 downloads... You are like a god right now in my eyes.
Now if only I had a connection speed and cables that could handle 2gbps, then I could really make use of this quad-core and not wait 20 minutes for each half of the archived install to download...

Thanks for the game, Animeholic. :) I just got done playing then game for nearly 21 hours straight..... The storyline is amazing, I have no words to explain what I think about it, though I still have more to do! Just.... must have a break.....

the utsound.sfs is from the voice links right? as in the sound files you all were talking about is the voice files right? cause when i used the hjsplit, it joined a utwvoice.7z.joined file, not a utsound.sfs
the size is 914,922kbs too, and in addition after joining those files together, a .rar file appeared bearing the same name utwvoice.7z (but .rar format, size 444,772kb), the other utwvoice.7z is a FILE format. however i cant extract it :(
i can play the game alright, just no voice.

You have to extract both UTWV.Part1 and UTWV.Part2, winrar will not automatically do the second one when you start the first one. After you have extracted both .rars you should get two folders. Each should have five separate files in them marked 1-5 and 6-10. Copy and paste the links from part2 folder into part1 folder then combine with HJSplit. Once you have combined the parts properly you should get a single .rar file which will be named as UTWVoice.7z (914,922 KBs). You extract that file which will give you UTSOUND.SFS. From there it's just a matter of following the voice installer instructions. It sounds complicated but it's not really. Just take your time when doing it.
Also you need 15 posts before you can give someone reputation.
