Language Settings:
Please Noticed That Before Playing Japanese Games On Your PC You Need To First Have Your Language Settings Changed From (English To Japanese). If Using Windows XP Like Myself You Need To Have The Windows XP Installation CD Ready At Hand In Order To Change The Language Setting.
“
Where Do I Go To Change My Language Setting, And How?”
First Go To: “
Control Panel” >> “
Date, Time, Language, And Regional Options” >> “
Regional And Language Options” >> “
Advance” Tab Then Go Thru The Language List By Alphabet Till You Find “
Japanese” (Also Please Go Thru The Code Page Down Below Still Under “
Advance” Tab And Mark/Check Boxes That Have Japanese Next To Them There Should Be Two That Need To Be Checked If More Please Check Them). Once Found And Selected, Hit “
Apply” Then “
Ok” Notice That Every Time You Change Your Language Setting You Will Be Prompt To Restart Your System For Changes To Take Effect.
Windows XP Users Will Be Asked For The Windows Installation CD. (Used Vista Once Didn't Need The CD More Like If I Did I Would Have Been **** Because My Vista Didn't Came With The Copy ;__;)
“
IF” (Happened To Me Panicked For Two Hours Lol) You Search Thru The Alphabetic Language List Under "
Advance" Tab For “
Japanese” And It Doesn't Show Up Between “
Italian (Switzerland) And “
Kazakh” You Might Need To Go A Step Back And Instead Of Being Under “
Advance” Tab Move Over The The “
Language” Tab. Note This Is Still All Under “
Regional And Language Options” Once Under The “
Language” Tab, Mark/Check The Second Option Box “
Instal East Asia Languages”. You Will Need To Provide Your Windows XP Installation CD. Once That's Done Re-Search For Japanese Once Again Under:
“
Regional And Language Options” >> “
Advance” Tab >> Then Search For "Japanese" It Should Now Show Up Between “Italian (Switzerland) (
Japanese) “Kazakh”. (Also Please Go Thru The Code Page Down Below If You Still Haven't Done So Under “
Advance” Tab And Mark/Check Boxes That Have Japanese Next To Them There Should Be Two That Need To Be Checked If More Please Check Them) Then Please Restart Your System, And Presto! You Now Have Your Systems Language Set To Japanese. Well Hope It Worked Out For You, If Not There's Always Microsoft's “
Applocale” Program Which Lets You Run Programs By Their Respective Native Language. (
Freeware).
Pretty Easy To Use Even Without Instructions But Still...
Download >> Open “
Applocale” >> “
Browse” For Your Program In This Case Your Game ".Exe" >> Chose The Language Of The Application Which In This Case Is Japanese. (Last Bottom One On The Language List) And Then Click "
Finish". That's One Fast/Easy Way Of Reading The Game In Its Native Language And Avoiding Changing Your Systems Language Settings. (Good For Those Without Their OS's (Operating System) CD Copy)
Question: “Is There Any Difference Between Using Microsoft's Applocale Program And Changing Your Language Setting Manually?” To Be Honest I See No Difference Tho I've Only Used Applocale A Small Number Of Times And I've Never Had Any Problems With It. It Runs The Games Just Like It Would If My Language Settings Were Changed To Japanese...
Thing With Applocale Is That You Need To Open Applocale Every Time You Want To Play/Run A New Game/Program That Needs It's Native Language In Order To Work In This Case (Japanese).
Applocale Does Asks You If You Want To Make A Shortcut Out Of That Game/Program With The Language You Chose Once For Next Times Usage. But You Will Still Need To Open Applocale Every Single Time You Get A New Game/Program That Needs It's Native Language In Order To Work. Unlike Changing Your Language Settings Just Once (Tho This Really Isn't Much Of A Debate For People Missing Their OS's CD Copy) Well Which Ever Option You Chose You Will Still Get The Same Result So No Need To Worry About That...
Notice For Windows Vista Is Pretty Similar. Don't Know For Mac Ox Sorry.
