If a classic RPG (PS1 and earlier) were to be remade, what would be the best one? If you have more than one tied, you may list them. Also, try to give a reason to keep a real discussion going instead of just a random list of RPGs. This does not necessarily have to be your favorite game, as some would turn out better than others simply due to the amount of emotion they could add that held the games back in the past.
My personal vote, goes for Final Fantasy 7. I am replaying this game now, and unlike most, it is NOT my favorite FF. I honestly think it's one of the worst. It clashes with it's own story when you put together all the prequels and sequels, and it majorly lacks the emotion that it strives so hard to achieve. If they remade it, I'm sure they would tie up lose ends in the story. As for the emotion.
SPOILER if you have not finished, or at least gotten half way through Disc 2:
After you escape Junon as Tifa after Cloud loses himself and gives Sephiroth the Black Materia. You can tell they are trying to make you really feel for Tifa, but the lack of graphics for real facial expressions, and being unable to hear the sadness in her voice ruins it. Then when you get to the village where he is in the clinic, first hearing he is there, Tifa runs off screaming his name, so happy he is okay.
I imagined this scene in my head with current gen graphics and the level of emotion they could have added to it, the entire time it was playing. I imagined a sudden change in the tone in Tifa's voice, her face turning red and eyes starting to brim over with tears as she ran to see him.
Anyways, there is my opinion. Now let's hear everyone elses. :D
