Mass effect was a great seiries and I was wondering who else likes it :P? I haven't played ME1 though. I was sad the first time I played through and I thought Liara was gonna die ): . I got the good ending when the extended cut came out!
I do believe you poll may be broken. But considering if they keep the ending they have now, its hard to see what 4 would be about, As the relays get destroyed in all endings.
Two easier options would be either a different game set in the same time period with a different main character or a mass mmo game. The First idea would be easier to do, and could explain a lot more of the story. The Second option would take longer but would be really intersting, imagine you and your squad fighting the reapers on earth, in a large map, not a small firebase.
Yeah, the poll is awful. This seems more like something I'd see on Gaia than here. Anyway, I'm just here to give my opinion on how much I hate unnecessary sequels sequels and that a finished series should stay finished. On top of that, has a fourth game even been announced? I know the female Shep's voice actress said that she would continue her role if the series were to continue, but has there been any official news?
If not, leave this on Gaia until there is official news.
Sorry about the poll being messed up, haven't made one before.
The producers have hinted some at there being a 4th Mass Effect. If I remember right, somone asked them about it and they said "It's possible", something along those lines.
A plot for the 4th would be Super Reapers. Here's what I think, since the reapers have been reaping this galaxies for an unkown ammount of time (millions, etc.). Why would the reapers attacking this galaxy be the only reapers? The reapers would be reaping more than just this one galaxy to keep with thier vision of keeping organic life from being wiped out by synthetic's (Ironic xD). I think that the crucible only destroyed the reapers within this galaxy and that it didn't reach any of the other ones. In the next one, the Mass relays will be salvaged and be able to eventually work on intergalactic travel. With all of that said, if there was a next game, it would take place in the future, not directly afterward.
It would be best to avoid making a topic for this until there is a properly announcement or more credible rumors.
In its current story lines, I don't see how they could continue the series unless they decided to jump to a different period at some point.
If the Super reapers is the only thing somebody can come up with they can put that in their pockets. Simply stated, the Crucible perfectly explained the ending of the reapers and any other appearance from them would be signing the death certificate of the series. A more acceptable story would be a new race of aliens appears and assimilates into civilizations, then some evil undercover plot is discovered. This would step away from ME3's war themed atmosphere and back into ME2's atmosphere that I heard from various players they enjoyed more. But thats just off the top of my head.
I played through the first two games, hyped up for the third. I get halfway through and start reading about the abysmal endings, which caused me to not even bother finishing ME3. Then the Extended Cut came out, and it was good enough for me to finish the game. It was so good in fact, that I started an entirely new playthrough from ME1, with Liara as a romance (sorry Tali). Liara cares the most about Shepard, regardless if he romances her or not, and her cutscenes, such as in Lair of the Shadow Broker, were touching (another incentive for me to keep playing).
Sure the Extended Cut doesn't fill all the plotholes, but it covered just enough to make me want to play again. Great series overall, just wish the ending was a bit more well done.
