I'm worried about this game due to the complete absence of Id Software. Hopefully, this means that they're working hard on DOOM 4, but I'd prefer it if they kept hold of their own titles.
To hell with it. I'm still a Wolfenstein fan. I'm willing to watch this and see how this dev team handles the franchise.
Being made by key members of Riddick and The Darkness games. I think it's in good hands.
That just tells me that the game will likely have great lighting and game-play. I'm still worried that it won't feel like an actual Wolfenstein game. It'll probably be better than the 2009 version, but as it is, RTCW is still the peak of the franchise to me. I'm just hoping that this one would be more old-school, is all.
I liked the 2009 version and they did say this was supposed to be a re-imagining and taking place in a different universe or something. I can't really tell from the guns but I think they may have taken it towards a more modern game.
I thought the 2009 version was fun and all, but it just lacked the old-school charm that RTCW had. Idunno, maybe it was them switching out the holy artifacts and undead for inter-dimensional powers and monsters. I also wasn't a fan of the reduced arsenal. The lack of the knife, pistols, and the Thompson kinda bothered me a bit. Especially when you get to see BJ using a colt in the opening cutscene and see him holding a Thompson on the cover art. That said, the particle cannon may be one of the most enjoyable guns in the FPS genre.
What I'm hoping for in New Order is that they keep that Grindhouse look that it seems to be sporting in that trailer. It may be different, but it might be an interesting style for the game, based on the setting and all.
