tl;dr at the bottom of the post.
I've been bored with my collection of games recently, even after going through the recently released ones and giving them a try, I haven't come across anything that has truly caught my eye. And, to say the least; the "24" hours of the FF14 beta were depressing and it took me a retardedly long time to download the updates until I finally got in. And then I find out the class I chose to play (Archer) missed 40% or more of the time, which left a bad taste in my mouth after having to grind rats for ages. I certainly hope 14 takes a turn for the better, or I may find myself dropping it and waiting for TOR (The Old Republic) to be released.
But that's not the point of this thread.
To ease my boredom, I decided to go through my collection of old games, seeing classics like Warcraft, Starcraft, Doom, Quake II, HOMM III and various others. Until, one game caught my eye that I haven't even thought of for the longest time.
Upon looking at the jewel case, I was hit be a wave of Nostalgia
The game? It was Ski Resort Tycoon. I went further and was surprised to find the second game in that particular series hanging around and decided to pop it in to my computer, install it and give it the ol' go around.
Am I the only person here who would be overjoyed at seeing that one screen? Right now, I'm currently building my theme park and I'll post pictures of it when it's complete.
I certainly do miss the days of sharing my creations with all of my friends. Much like today's Minecraft, all of the tycoon games were extremely popular, if not only for the fact you could share your creations with the world around you and build wonders to the eye.
Since installing Ski Resort Tycoon 2, I've also installed Stronghold Crusader (extreme), and various other "build it yourself" games.
I would like to know if anyone else here has done this recently and am hoping to see if they can share their creations as well.
tl;dr - I installed Ski Resort Tycoon 2, it's extremely nostalgic. Are you doing the same thing? Have any creations from various oldies (Stronghold, Rollercoaster Tycoon etc.) that you want to share? post them here. Minecraft is also accepted because it's awesome.
(All of the tycoon games and many, many other old games can easily be found on any torrent tracker if you're looking to "replay" the earlier days.)
