Xenoblade

I really need to get over this obsession with the quests in this game. I burn way too much time on them; fighting enemies that give me crap EXP.

Up to when you leave for Colony 6:

I just hope this game isn't as complicated as Xenosaga. The whole lvl points things are just so flipping confusing to me.

That's what the tutorials are there for. Point spending isn't even that complicated in Xenosaga, and it's even less so in Xenoblade.

is Wii Region locked?

I went through the tutorials, but what I don't get are some of the functions you spend the points on. I read the discriptions, and I'm just left confused.

Well, give me a couple examples and I'll see if we can get these things cleared up.

Too late for that. As of right now, winging it and just using good ol' fasion tactics and pump up characters. I tend to do that in a lot of lvl up games. Just keep on pumping up my characters.

I R HAS JELLY. Too bad we don't have Wii anymore so no way we can play it now.

so why does the OP say that it won't be focused on story? Thats what made Xenosaga amazing, the story

Oh NOA, why are you trying so hard to make the game a failure? Not only is it a far later release date than the EU version, but it's also a Game Stop exclusive. Seriously, why!?



Because it's still less focused on story than its psuedo-brethren Xenosaga and Xenogears. It does have a bit more story than Soma Bringer though.

I think it is because Gamestop has a good distribution system and pushes game pre-orders more than any other retailer. Nintendo probably doesn't want to ship anymore copies than what it knows will sell, and avoid seeing dozens of copies end up in the 14.99 bin at Walmart.

Well damn, 40 hours in I still can't see the end of the main plot lol (omw to the mekonis capital).
I like everything in this game, except the Reyn/Charla relationship that seems to be going on.

So I just got it today and it looks alright considering its a Wii game. I haven't played any of the previous games so I don't really know what to expect. The opening cutscene with the Titans fighting was actually pretty awesome and then the post-tutorial fight cutscene that zoomed out to show just how goddamned big these guys actually are was cool as well.

American release was today, I picked up my copy and noticed something. We've got the UK voice acting, so there was no real "US" version made. Also, the constant British grammar and voicing has me inadvertently speaking in the accent.

Pretty awesome game though, the Art system is nice, you can play through with any character you want while still enjoying the story, and the future sight system is handy in battle. 6 hours in and I haven't even reached the second boss, which is cool. I'm hoping this one lasts me a while. Though I am a bit disappointed with the collection system, I find myself wishing it wasn't so random. It makes farming each item a bit difficult for quests, if you have bad luck.

So far, 6 hours in. I'll probably post more when I'm further into the game.

I'm at the last boss but can't beat him. Figured I have to farm a bit more :/

How's the battle system in this game? Does the auto attacking kind of do everything or is there still skill/strategy involved?
