FAKKU's official Zone of the Enders news and discussion thread Zone of the Enders (ã‚¾ãƒ¼ãƒ³ã€€ã‚ªãƒ–ã€€ã‚¨ãƒ³ãƒ€ãƒ¼ã‚º ZÅ�n obu EndÄ�zu?), commonly referred to by the acronym Z.O.E., is a franchise created by Hideo Kojima, owned by the video game publisher Konami, and expanded on by the animation studio Sunrise. The original Zone of the Enders is a game created for the launch of the Sony PlayStation 2, which has so far spawned a single PS2 sequel, a Game Boy Advance side-story, an OVA movie and a twenty-six episode television anime series. The Zone of the Enders series is set in the late 22nd century. Humankind has colonized Mars, and space colonies are also set up in orbit around Jupiter. Fueling this expansion are two scientific advances: the development of the Laborious Extra-Orbital Vehicle, or LEV, a mecha used for labor and military use, and the discovery of Metatron, a high-energy ore found on Callisto. However, those in power on Earth begin to take a dim view of the colonists of Mars and Jupiter, calling them "Enders", and imposing harsh and exploitive laws and taxes against them. Eventually, different groups on Mars begin to rise up in opposition to Earth. A new weapon given to these rebels is the Orbital Frame, a mecha making extensive use of Metatron-based technology, These Orbital Frames come to shape the destiny of Earth and its colonies, for both good and evil. GAMES: Zone of the Enders, the first game in the series, details the story of a boy named Leo Stenbuck, a colonist from Jupiter who accidentally finds himself piloting the Orbital Frame Jehuty. In Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (known as Anubis: Zone of the Enders in Japan), a new pilot, Dingo Egret, finds Jehuty on the Moon of Callisto two years after the events of the first game and travels to the superweapon Aumaan in order to defeat Colonel Nohman of the BAHRAM army, who pilots Jehuty's sister craft, Anubis. Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars (known as Zone of the Enders: 2173 Testament in Japan) is a side-story released for the Game Boy Advance, about a conspiracy involving the construction of Orbital Frames for Earth. The protagonist, a young man named Cage Midwell, finds himself getting involved with a resistance organization known as BIS. Hideo Kojima has promised that he would produce the next game in the series, Zone of the Enders 3, at an unspecified point in the future. ANIME: Zone of the Enders: 2167 IDOLO is a prequel for the entire series, telling the story of Radium Lavans, the pilot of the first Orbital Frame. Zone of the Enders: Dolores,i is a followup to IDOLO, following the exploits of James Links, an alcoholic trucker, who, while trying to reunite with his estranged family, discovers an Orbital Frame hidden in one of his shipping containers. The frame, calling itself Dolores, seems to consider James her uncle. [size=10]All of above information was borrowed from Wikipedia.[/h] [color=blue]JEHUTY[/color] Orbital Frame Jehuty is the most prominent Orbital Frame in the series. Jehuty is initially armed with a blade, arm cannon, shield and homing laser, as well as possessing burst and grab abilities. Originally designated to be piloted by Alan, a pilot of the civilian transport vessel “Atlantis”, Jehuty is eventually piloted by Leo Stenbuck after he takes refuge from the BAHRAM raid in a frame hangar. BAHRAM seeks to re-obtain Jehuty for use in the Aumaan project. After the events of Zone of the Enders, Leo, knowing ADA's purpose and what is destined to happen to Jehuty if it reaches Mars, hides Jehuty away on Callisto, where it is later discovered by Dingo Egret. The name “Jehuty” is derived from that of the Egyptian god “Djehuty”. Piloted by Leo Stenbuck, and Dingo Egret. Appearances: ZOE, ZOE2, mentioned in Dolores i Orbital Frame JEHUTY [color=brown]ANUBIS[/color] Orbital Frame Anubis is the twin frame of Jehuty. Despite this, Anubis’ development is much further advanced than Jehuty, running on what is effectively optimum system capabilities; Anubis is armed with a battle staff, arm cannon, shield and homing laser as well as possessing burst and grab abilities. Additionally, the Anubis frame is armed with “Zero Shift”. This module allows the frame to cover vast distances in an instant via space compression. Seized during transportation during the Antilia raid, Anubis is now Colonel Nohman’s frame of choice. Nohman himself has described Anubis as “the perfect frame” and it plays a central role as part of project Aumaan. The name “Anubis” is the same as that of the Egyptian god. Piloted by Ridley Hardiman, AKA 'Nohman' Appearances: ZOE, ZOE2, Dolores i Orbital Frame ANUBIS [color=olive]ARDJET[/color] The frame has a very tough exterior armor and is primarily armed with WISP, small remote drones which can be used as missiles or to grab a target. I haven't played FoM, but I've seen alot of gameplay and I wanna play it... maybe I should hit up my local GameStop, I just realized I've never asked about it.... Stupid stupid stupid....

SoM was a good start into the world of ZoE. Even though its just like an enhanced SRPG (enhanced = EN/Ammo/Spirit system for attacks, DLing new Moves from Uplink stations, ATS (assisted targeting system- you aim and dodge for yourself if you like to)) its also a beautiful piece about the "First Enders"
so PLAY IT! (If you can still find it, the GBA catridge is pretty old *emulatorscoughcough*

i prefer my games "hardcopies" too, even if it takes an awful lot of time to get them (-> yggdra Union >_>)

I just dusted off my PS2, unplugged the 360 and started up Z.O.E., let's see how fast I can beat it on Normal! (with cutscenes- I like them >_>)

what happens in the good ending? i was never able to beat the "Help" missions without crushing 1 or 2 buildings... and you need 5 As to get it >_>

sure thing. Dont know why this was neveer this heavily advertised... its a real gem

(and they changed my affinity for giant mechas from No Way! to "some are okay")

Mars for sure. For one thing, I don't even thikn they've landed on Jupiter. o_o
Plus, in Dolores, i alot of Mars-borns are referred to as Enders.
I vote we construct a new colony orbiting Mars, and that will be our Enders Base.

they never did, the jupiter enders are thoseliving in the colonies floating around jupiter and its moons.

the mars borns are the "enders" for earthlings and the jupiter colonists are the "enders" for the mars borns, since those are the "cheaper places"

Well, this game was made in Japan. And Neith, Nephtis and Ardjet have boobs, so... honestly, not really.
But I do think it's funny, when Jehuty goes into Flight mode, the 'cockpit' points up.....heheheh.....

I do think they did a good job to not make it look like a wang, though.
