Sun Kiss Audition:[/h]
The venue today was in Dream Academy. The stage was in one of its auditorium. This place was admittedly far more spacious than Starlight Academy. It did seemed more futuristic and it did not held onto the feeling of European high-class designs and architecture unlike Starlight Academy. Most of the participating students had to run on their own feet to get here – those who weren’t from Dream Academy, anyway. Some might’ve used a taxi, however.
Natsuki strolled across the Academy’s halls, still waiting for the audition’s designated time. While she didn’t entirely approve of Dream Academy’s decor, it wasn’t necessarily bad in itself - merely different from what she would have picked.
“Ah, are you partaking in today’s audition?” A lady said as she approached Natsuki. She had really short brown hair, and possessed an incredibly slim figure. She seemed to be as old Orihime Headmistress – if not slightly older, but seemingly young. She had purple eyes, and wore appropriate make-up. Her dress-up contained a red top, and a black short skirt, along with black long stockings, and black heels. “Then you’re heading to the wrong direction!” She added.
Natsuki looked up, startled, before putting on a demure smile.
”Oh! I didn’t know. Thank you very much, Madame.” She bowed her head slightly.
”This place is rather large, so it’s easy for someone to get lost if they don’t have a map…” She added.
“There are some maps in the walls, I think… ” the lady said, pondering. As if she herself is unsure. “If you come across one, go to †˜Auditorium E’!” She said. “Hmm… I feel like I saw you somewhere before…”
Natsuki bowed again.
”Thank you Madame.” She replied again.
”Ah, my name is Kahouin. Natsuki Kahouin. She informed her speaker. Perhaps, the woman knew her from one of the Academy’s broadcasts? Or, given her age, maybe knew one of her relatives; in spite of her blonde-and-blue-eyed constitution, Natsuki was not that different from most Kahouin women.
“Ah! Now I know! You’re one of the
fresh girls who made a recent debut on Starlight Academy, didn’t you? Your debut performance – the walk on the runway was great!” She praised. “My name is Yumesaki Tiara – I am the Headmistress of Dream Academy – nice to meet you!”
Natsuki curtsied.
”A pleasure to meet you, Headmistress.” She said a little more officially.
”And thank you. That walk took a bit of preparation, really. I’m glad that people enjoyed it!” That much was true - Natsuki had found that she enjoyed seeing the people’s impassioned expressions after her show.
“I like seeing girls like you blossom on the stage,” Tiara openly claimed. “You seem to have good sense of style and fashion. Perhaps you may one day truly have your dresses come to life!” Tiara remarked. “Why not try to become an actual modelling? I think it might fit you very much!”
Natsuki paused, surprised. It...sounded rather nice, actually. Though Natsuki kept improving her dancing, it wasn’t something she wanted to particularly focus on. And modelling...well, that had a certain kind of stoic charm to it. She smiled.
”I might consider it, once I have more time.” She honestly admitted.
“Regardless, you should walk on a single straight line sometimes! It really helps with cat-walking, especially if you add some height into it!” Tiara said the last portion of her sentence with the usual enthusiasm as if it was still a piece of cake for everyone. “Anyway, I’d best be off now, be sure to find your way to the auditorium!” she said before waving her hand at Natsuki while walking off.
Natsuki managed to only briefly wave back before the woman disappeared.
What an interesting person, She thought.
***
Natsuki was soon led to a waiting room where she waited for almost about thirty minutes after reaching her destination. There were quite a lot of girls in here, today. Mostly Dream Academy students; perhaps they joined since the location didn’t quite required efforts for mobility. The most eye-catching figure participating today was Himesato Maria – one of the fabled models of Dream Academy, apparently a princess from some wealthy family. Albeit, Natsuki didn’t know her, but she could tell how charming she seemed from a single glance. On the other hand, there was Hiyori, a fellow student from Starlight Academy, unfortunately Natsuki didn’t quite know her either; she never quite looked up the other students that passed the Nationwide Audition Caravan.
Natsuki briefly pondered on what to do next. She could have went on ahead and say her greetings to Himesato, but then again, Natsuki really didn’t feel that it was required. Rather, she had felt surprisingly...protective of her status as a Starlight Academy student. Therefore, in the end she decided to hang out with her fellow student instead. Good time as any for introductions, eh?
Natsuki approached Hiyori, putting on her best smile.
”Hello there,” she begun, trying to catch her fellow student’s attention.
”Waiting for your turn at the auditions I see...Hiyori, wasn’t it?”
Hiyori nodded enthusiastically, happy to have a fellow student to chat with.
“Yup, that’s me!” She looked around to see if there were any others from Starlight Academy but only found Natsuki.
“It’s nice to meet you!”
”Likewise, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance” Natsuki nodded, taking up the sole empty seat next to Hiyori.
”So, excited for the upcoming audition?” She asked the girl.
“Very!” Replied Hiyori, clapping her hands together in delight.
“I knew this was one I’d sign up for when, the name “Sun Kiss” is something I can’t pass up.” She nodded her head sagely, appearing to be in deep thought.
Natsuki laughed gently.
”Well, it does sound nice I suppose.” She paused in thought.
”Though to tell you the truth...I signed up mostly because it’s a modeling audition...and honestly, I feel more confident with modelling than anything else, so far.”
Hiyori did another appraisal of Natsuki’s appearance, gazing at her hair and toying with her own blonde locks.
“Well, you do look pretty different from the rest of the girls and…” She paused, trying to find the appropriate words.
“Um, more mature? Adult? Ngaah!” Giving up, Hiyori just smiled sheepishly.
“You look unique!”
Natsuki giggled.
”That’s very nice of you.” She said, tilting her head to get a better look at Hiyori.
”You’re quite unique yourself.” She paused for a minute, gathering her thoughts.
”Like...a-a younger sister, I suppose. The kind you just want to hug and spoil.” She said to Hiyori.
“Hehe~” Hiyori giggled,
“Thank you I guess? I don’t have any siblings but I get what you mean.” She replied charmingly,
“The younger children from my town are just so adorable.” Hiyori blew a lock of hair out of the way, some of it falling in front of her eyes after her toying.
Natsuki smiled, reaching out for the other girl’s shoulder.
”Awww~ That’s so sweet. I wish I had a sister like you! And I’m sure you’ll make a great mother in the future!” Natsuki smiled brightly at the other blonde.
”Let’s do our best then, alright?”
“Eh? Me?” Hiyori flushed and tilted her head away, somewhat embarrassed by the comment. She just wanted the people around her to be happy, that’s all.
“Mmm…” She managed, nodding shyly in agreement.
Natsuki giggled again, bringing one of her hands to the mouth in an elegant gesture.
”Teasing her is surprisingly fun.” She thought.
”That said though, we should probably start preparing now. If you need anything, you have but to ask.” She politely told Hiyori, still smiling.
Hiyori fiddled with the edge of her skirt, still slightly flustered.
“Ok… I’m sure I’ll need help sometime in the future… so thank you.” She bowed her head hurriedly, smiling slightly at Natsuki’s offer.
“Likewise, I’d extend the same offer to you!”
Natsuki smiled brightly at the other girl as she tilted her head in the other way, the curtain of platinum-blonde hair sparkling behind her.
”Thank you very much darling. I’ll keep it in mind.”
Now, there was nothing but to wait for the auditions to start.
Some girls were calling in by the staff members, before Natsuki was beckoned to head for the dressing room. It was then time – for her to shine.
She found herself on a road made from purple, hard light, with the symbol of “spade” card floating around. In front of her, the cards silently hung in the air.
With quick, but elegant, pace, Natsuki walked through card after card.
The first was top, then skirt and lastlyok feeling was…exciting, actually. She felt invigorated, as if the entire world was at her fi, another at an angle to her body with a finger extended and pressed over her lips, in a universal “Shhhh” sign, complete with a racy wink.
”GO MY WAY!! GO mae e!! Gambatte yukimashou, Ichiban daisuki na, Watashi ni naritai”
Perhaps Natsuki was
too excited - or perhaps, still too miffed about the choice of the song for this type of the audition. Whatever the reason, her singing could hardly be called ideal. In fact, to be brutally honest, the only good thing about it was that the lyrics were accurate, and
somewhat paced. However, the tone of voice was all wrong, as were the various inflections and the expressions in the song. In other words, her singing was flat, and maybe a bit shrill to boot. But the dance routine was simple, and surprisingly refreshing, and she quickly found herself enjoying it.
”NONSUTOPPU de itte mimasho♪ Tte omottara mata akashingou!?! Sonna toki wa hekomanai de, HAIUEI ga aru FAITO!! FURUSUROTTORU tobashite mimasho♪ Tte omottara SUPIIDO seigen!?! Konna toki wa nayamanai de, JETTO ga aru FURAITO!!”
Perhaps enjoying herself a bit too much - as she stepped from one leg to another, Natsuki wore a somewhat impish grin, which clashed considerably with the tone of song and the dance. Unsurprisingly, most of the audience found it either perplexing...or somewhat comical, if you’d will. Nonetheless, it didn’t detract too much from Natsuki’s visual appeal - the just right combination of colors, the sheen of her hair, the sparkling eyes and the tone of her skin.
”Mirai wa dare ni mo mienai MONO, Dakara dare mo ga yume wo miteru, Donna chizu ni mo notte nai kedo, Donna toki demo kanaete kita yo, Saa yukou!!”
Natsuki briskly and smoothly moved through the dance, even if her singing and expression were subpar. A couple of moves - particularly when she had to jump up in cheer and then swing hips side-to-side while doing a hand-roll, got to show off Natsuki’s rather well-developed body for her age, much to delight of the present male audience. The subtle wink, and the sparkling, shiny flow of her brilliant blonde hair helped too - it seemed as if she was less of a girl, and more of a gorgeous -
delicious - fairy or succubus. A little improvisation - like a wink there, or a small kiss here, worked wonders too, and Natsuki could hear many sighs from the gathered students. Boys mostly, though there were a couple of girl-sounding ones too...
”GO MY WAY!! GO MY ue e!! Hora hitori hitori ga, Kono sekai juu de, One & Only demo Not Lonely, GO MY WAY!! GO mae e!! Harikitte yukimashou, Subete no kagayaki, Kono yubi ni tomare!”
She finished the performance with a big shout, and to a tremendous applause from the audience. Natsuki genuinely smiled, feeling pride well up in her ample chest.
”I think I now understand why professional idols do what they do.” She thought. She then blew an exaggerated kiss towards the audience, leaning forward, with one of her hands on her tigh - a position that gave a very flattering view of her legs, chest and face.
“La vie est drole” She sensually whispered, inciting yet another round of cheers. Natsuki smiled again, waving back to the enthusiastic crowd.
