[Contest Entry]A Merry Krampus Story

A little boy was hyper as Christmas Day was getting near, and couldn’t get to sleep. So his grandfather took him to bed, and laid him down, telling him that he should go to sleep. “Hey Grampa, can you tell me a bed time story?” “Sure, but you need to go to bed, for you don’t want to be up when Santa comes.” “Why not?” “Well, just listen to this story…” It was the night before Christmas, and the moon gleamed off of the freshly fallen snow. All of the children had gone to bed early, so that they could get a special visit from Santa, all but two children that is. The two were so excited that it was Christmas night. They finally had an opportunity to finally see Santa leaving presents at their house. They stayed up all night, playing games, surfing the nosebleed section of Fakku, talking to each other about what they were going to ask Santa when they saw him, and even listened to some Christmas carols on their radio. The hours passed as they waited, not knowing how things would unfold. Santa knew those two children were staying up late, and it was even more sweet, seeing that they were on the Naughty List that year as well. Santa called up his friend, Krampus, and gave him the task. “There are two naughty children in that house over there.” Santa said, pointing at a beautiful Victorian Home. “Why don’t you pay them a visit this fine evening.” “Sure thing Santa, after all, that is why I’m here.”, Krampus said. “Oh ho ho! Go get them Krampus.”, Santa says as Krampus leaves to go to the house. Meanwhile, the two children had snuck downstairs, to be better prepared for when Santa came, and sat by the tree near the fireplace. They grew excited as they looked upon their gifts. All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. The children were delighted, for they thought Santa had returned. The door opened and the children were confused. For there in the doorway, stood Krampus, which a birch branch in one hand, and his bag tagging along beside him, connected by a chain. The children were terrified, and they began to scream. But no one heard them, not even a peep. Krampus moved across the room to where the children stood in fear. “So which one of you stole money from your mother’s purse to purchase dakimakura from Fakku's store, and which one of you had incestual sex with the other, just because you saw it on Fakku? It doesn’t matter, because you both did it.” Krampus says, as his long tongue lashes out and licks the children’s faces. “No, we didn’t do it!”, the children protested, trying to prove their innocence. But nothing escapes from the clutches of Krampus. With that lie, Krampus brought up the birch branch in his hand, and proceeded to beat the children with it, as to tenderize them for later. For Krampus has an insatiable appetite for naughty children. The children cried out with each hit, for Krampus used just more than his birch branch to beat the children. He used his fists and feet as well. And when the children had become submissive, he plopped them into his bag, and walked out of the house. He walked across the town, to the river, and threw the bag into it, as too marinade the children inside. The children fought and screamed as the bag filled with water slowly. But there was no escape from Krampus. Before the children drowned, Krampus pulled the bag from the water, and heaved it upon his shoulder. He walked for miles and miles, until he reached his house. Once there, he put a large cauldron over an open fire. He proceeded to fill it with water and potatoes, and all the necessary ingredients to cook naughty little children. When the water had started to boil, he went to the bag he had set down, and grabbed the two children from within it, and put them into the boiling water. They fought and screamed as they tried to escape from the cauldron. But there is no escape from Krampus. The children gave up to their pain and injuries, and let Krampus eat them, whole. He savored every bite as he ate them, and couldn’t wait until next year to eat once again. Everyone never wondered where the two children went, as they knew that they had been bad. And they told their children about it, so that they would behave, but it never lasts long. Every year, Krampus has a wonderful meal, made from the naughty children that get on Santa’s Naughty List. ......... “Now you know why you need to go to bed when you’re told to, and to always behave yourself. Or else you’ll get a visit from Krampus.”, the grandfather said as he finished the story. The little boy paid attention to the story, the entire time, entranced by the awfulness of Krampus. The little boy went to sleep as fast as he could, so that he couldn’t get taken by mean ole Krampus. His grandfather patted the boys head as he said good night and turned off the lights and shut the door. Glowing red eyes, with a evil white grin played across a face could be seen from underneath the boy's bed, if one payed close enough attention as the room turned pitch black. The next morning, the boy was gone, and not a soul wondered where he went.

That was what I was looking for when I asked for inspiration, essentially for information you took into writing this. I perhaps would have appreciated an author's note stating some background information about Krampus and a disclaimer stating that while the tale exists, this was written in your words. It's a shaky situation where I need to determine how much of the writing is original and how much is "piggybacked," if you will, off already existing tales. I cannot go further into detail because that would be personally advising you, which is against my role as a judge. However, What I am trying to convey is that you hopefully understand my position and duty to investigate into these matters.

As I said, the changes you've made make it suitable again as a submission and so it qualifies.

Wow, that was great! I have to admit, i like very much.

Nice story you've got here Zandorf. I really enjoyed reading it.

The parts that I like the most where the ones where you added the slight things about fakku with the incest and stuff. Putting those there didn't degrade the story as much as it should be (kids going to a porn site and knowing about these things but what the heck most of us already did that). Adding to that was the ending , for me it finished with a diferent thoughts , mostly comparing the children from the story with the grampa's nephiew.

The only part that it didn't feel natural was the fact that the story is pretty grotescue (I haven't heard of it btw) and the child didn't seem to be feeling scared.

In the end I really liked it and I'm looking forward for more!

I tried to do something in under 1000 words, like what the last contest was. I could have added a few things, like you said, to convey the feeling that the children were scared through out the whole thing.

Wow... near-Guro for an xmas story...
"Hey Santa? what ever happened to the coal for the naughty children?"
"Long-story short, kid, PR happened. The coal is actually when Krampus is cooking 'em. now... what'd you say your name was?"

Yeah. I think a vast majority of people did something happy and miraculous for their contest entry. While I tried to do something else, and used the old Germanic tale of Krampus, which is supposed to be dark and scary for children, and re-tell it my own way while introducing some Fakku elements.
