Divine Intervention

Yeah... I wrote this some months ago and decided I should post it somewhere, just for the heck of it. Do tell me what you think of it, even if it is a bit misanthropic. Oh, you'll have to excuse me for the title of the topic, as I couldn't come up with anything better.

A quite perplexing piece, indeed. I can see the melancholy of it and it does cause me to question the motives behind it, but as a singular piece, I see it to raise a few profound questions. My only query is why the narrator claims to be set free from a disgusting god as if that would aid the situation on any front. The profound tactics are obvious, however the philosophical perspective is hazy. Care to explain? My theory is that they are free from the servitude of a god that failed them, but I want to be sure that is not too presumptuous. I did enjoy reading it however, and the poetic organization was a delight.

Actually, this piece is very misanthropic. God descends to look upon his creation, only to notice that it is nothing but a breed of monsters. As he then "deserts us", or leaves us behind, he sets our world ablaze, to set us free from our destiny. That's the general idea anyway, but of course: one can inerpretate it as they see fit! I was actually first going to write "fire is all I see", but I decided to go for "death" instead.

Ah, wonderful explanation, thank you. If these are lyrics too, then I can see the performing well, again, if used in the metal/misanthropic scenario.

Almost everything I write is meant as lyrics, or at least with lyrics in my mind.
