How does one publish an erotic novel?

I have scoured the interwebs in search of an erotic novel publisher that will not take over 75% of the profits to no avail. Does anyone know how one would get published while making a decent profit from each sale? I know erotic novels are not the most sought after reading material but all the more reason to not accept 25% of the profit as well as pay for publication costs on physical copies.

Also how would one get their stories looked at by H Manga artists? I read Manga and roll my eyes at the same old stories recycled through and through and would love to see my own stories told through manga.

You could always try self publishing if you don't like your immediate publishers. However, that will require a lot more work. Other than that, I'm not aware, but try to get in touch with independent manga artists? All I can think of to assist you.

I thought about self publishing but I would not have the marketing nor would it hit the same market as those published by well known houses. I would have to advertise and have absolutely no experience advertising adult material. Maybe I could contact the publishers and try and work something out that would make it more advantageous for me then their set pricing.

You're not going to easily find a publishing house that doesn't take most of the money. Writing isn't lucrative and only the best can write and not have a job as their main revenue.

Even New York Times bestselling authors aren't exempt from this.

I never said I wanted to quit my job and support myself with writing erotic novels of all things but I would rather get something then next to nothing. But I do highly doubt that someone on the New York Times Best Seller list would not be able to support themselves with the money gained from selling over 10,000 copies of a single book. Can't say I've ever seen an erotic novel on the Best seller list though haha.

Most money you'll get should be based on payment of x amount of cents per word, then the 25% or most likely less of each copy.

Eric Nylund wrote 3 best-selling Halo books and has only quit his technical writing job recently after netting two multi-book deals.

I don't know of any publishers that will pay per word. The ones I've checked paid by a percentage of sales not an initial payment.
