Legend of Hiro: The Starlight Blade

I was going through some of my old stories and found one that I thought I might as well put here. it's a fan fic based some what off of the Legend of Zelda Series.

Legend of Hiro: The Starlight Blade

Long, Long ago on top of the Mountain of the Ancients a prophesy was made. When the Sun disappears from the sky, Fire will rain down from the heavens. A dark shadow will take hold of the land. A great depression will ensue. Crops will fail, and monsters will roam the plains. The world will seem as if it will be coming to an end. When this time comes a hero will arise. The Mystic Forest will allow this hero to pass into its borders and The Starlight Blade will be his.

This time has come, the day of the Kings 50th birthday the sun disappeared from the sky and fire rained down from the heavens burning fields of crops, to nothing but Ash. Monsters Emerged from the ruins of the Ancient cities, and now roam the planes.

All hope is lost till the one prophesied will arise and release the world from this dark shadow. This is were our story begins, a young lad, was found lying on the beach half dead, from where he came no one knows.

Chapter one: Who is this lad?

“Father come quick!” A young girl said as she ran towards her father who was sitting on the porch of there house, reading a book.

“What is it Sara?” The man asked, as he sat the book down, and stood up.

“The beach,” Sara huffed as she caught her breath. “I was collecting Sea Shells and there was a boy lying on the beach, he seems to be on the verge of death. I couldn't lift him we have to save him, Hurry!”

The man who Sara called father stood up immediately, putting on his boots rushing towards the beach. The young boy that Sara told him about way laying there on the shore his clothes torn. “You did right to come get me Sara,” The man said as he bent down to examine the boy. He was breathing shallowly and his pulse was weak. He flipped him onto his back to get a better look at him. “Pointed ears?” The man muttered as he picked him up and carried him back into the house laying him on the bed. “Sara Get a pot of water on the boil.”

The boy laid completely still on the bed, as The man tended to him with a wet cloth. The pot of water boiled away as the man prepared some herbs and spices to put into it. “Sara Put these in the water.”

Sara put the herbs in the water as the boy seemed to stir slightly.

“What happened to you child?” The man asked as the boy laid there.

“Hey Hiro wake up,” A voice said in the boys head. “Your time has come. Wake up.”

“Who are you?” The boy asked the voice.

“Hiro wake up,” The voice repeated. “And then we will meet in due time. Your time has come. Wake up” The voice kept repeating the same thing over and over, 'Your time has come', and 'Wake up'.

The boy opened his eyes to see the man tending to him, and The girl, that had found him over by the fire. “Where... Were am I?” The boy horsely asked as he tried to sit up. “Who are you?”

“Sara he's awake,” The man said as the girl walked over carrying the pot of Herbal tea. “Here Drink this.” The man handed a mug of tea to the boy. “You are lucky son, We thought you surely were going to die. But who are you?”

The boy sat there for a second, What was his name, the voice in his head kept calling him Hiro, was that his name? Hiro? “My name is Hiro,” Hiro said as he drank some of the tea, a warmth spread through his body. “I have a few Questions. Where am I? And, who are you?”

“This is my home,” the man calmly responded. “And my name is Orrin, and this is my daughter Sara. She was the one who found you.”

The young girl walked up to the side of her father, she seemed to be blushing a bit as she looked at Hiro. Looked at her, she was a pretty young girl, she seemed to be around the age of thirteen or fourteen.

“You were the one who found me?” Hiro asked her as she stood there quietly by her fathers side. “I Thank you for that.”

“Hiro,” The voice that was talking to him earlier spoke up once again. “You finally woke up, good. Listen to me and Listen good. My name is Yogto I am an Ancient. You are a Hidorian, one of the last, to be exact. Your time has come, A Plague of evil holds its grasp on this land. You are the one that the prophesy speaks of. You must travel to the Castle and find the king. He will tell you more of the prophesy, more I can not say.”

“Wait'” Hiro shouted out loud. “TELL ME!”

“Tell you what?” Orrin said with a puzzled look on his face.

“Nothing,” Hiro said as he stood up. “I'm a Hidorian, my time has come, I am the one a prophesy speaks of.”

“WHAT?!” Orrin exclaimed falling over backwards off of his stool. “You are the one the prophesy speaks of?” Orrin stood up and waled over to a chest in the conner of the room and drew out a Suit of Chain mail and a sword and Shield. I am the Guardian of the tools of the Hero. A Hero name Hiro who would have ever thought.”

Hiro put on the Chain mail, It was ornate with a Green vest, and the symbol of the Ancients. 3 red Circles. In the form of a pyramid. The shield was the same was and the Sword was a Bronze Short Sword.

“The Castle,” Hiro began.

“Its to the north of here,” Orrin cut him off. “Go now the king can tell you more of the prophecy.”

“Thank you,” Hiro said as he slid the Swords sheath into the slot on the belt. “I will do what I can to release this curse from the land.” With that said, Hiro was up and on his feet, the The Shield in his left hand, and a Cloak tied around his neck. As he headed out into the fading daylight. Clouds started to roll in as a storm brewed.

Chapter two: A Run of Bad Luck.

“HELP!” A Voice yelled off in the distance. “HUNTERS!” Whoever was yelling was coming closer, as they kept yelling. Then the figured appeared it seemed to be a Villager from a near bye village. The thing that was chasing him was like nothing that Hiro had ever seen, It looked almost like a human but it was a grayish color and has long talons on its hands.

“Great,” Hiro muttered unsheathing the sword. “All I wanted to do is get to the Castle and talk to the king. But Can I? No, I have to save some idiots life.” The Villager ran straight past Hiro and the creature saw a new target that seemed to be a lot easier to pick off, it wasn't moving.

The Talons of the beast clashed into the shield as the as Hiro raised the sword and swung it down into the arm that was bearing into the shield. A splatter of blood went flying as the sword cleaved the monsters arm off, the hand still attached to the shield by the talons. The monster let out a loud screech as blood poured from its stump of an arm. As Hiro Hacked away trying to cleave it head off. The rain started to pour as Hiro lunged forward with one final Swoop cleaving the head of the monster off. The rain beat down on Hiro as he sheathed the sword and ripped the Clawed hand from the shield.

“Is it dead?” a voice said as it slowly approached from behind. Hiro recognized the person to be the Villager from before.

“Yes,” Tristan said as he turned back around. “Get to your home, I'm not your protector.” With that Hiro left the man standing where he was and trudged back on, the rain beat down harder and harder. Hiro came to a fork in the road, and the sigh was broken. “Great, Just great.”

“Where, are you wanting to go?” The man from before asked. “If its the Castle you need to go to the right. Theres a village to the left.”

“And why are you following me?” Hiro asked annoyed that this stranger seemed to be following him. “I Thought I said for you to go home.”

“I am,” The village said indignantly. “I Live in the village to the left.”

Hiro rolled his eyes, how could someone be so stupid? It was beyond him. He trudged off into the direction of the left, the rain was not showing any signs of letting up. The castle loomed in the distance, as he trudged forward. *Squelch* Hiro's leg sunk into a pit of mud. “JUST GREAT!” Hiro shouted as he pulled his leg from the mud pit. Hiro made it to the castle finally.

“Who goes here?” One of the guards asked, as Hiro approached.

“The one the Prophecy speaks of,” Hiro said as he stepped into the light. “I am here to see the king.”

“The Prophecy?” The guard asked skeptically. “Do you know how many fools have claimed they are the hero? Get going be on your way.”

“The guards are not going to let you pass,” Yogto's Voice said in Hiro's head. “There is a Secret passage on the west wall. That will be your way in. There is a bush with red berries behind that bush is a tunnel that is the passage, it is not know so you should be able to get in safely.”

Hiro listened to what Yogto said as he walked off in the direction of the west wall. The bush was there and a small opening was under it. “Here goes nothing,” Hiro said as he squeezed through the hole. He fell into a dark pit, with a splash. He paddled to the edge of the pool and found the tunnel made of stone, and felt his way to a dead end. He fumbled about a bit trying to find a trip switch when the wall opened, revealing the dungeon.

Chapter three: Save the Princess

Hiro looked around the room he entered Cells Lined the walls and a selection torture devices through out the room. All the Cells were empty save one that had a Girl in it. Why someone like her was in the cell was beyond Hiro.

“Who are you?” She asked with a tone of fear in her voice. “Why are you here?”

“My name is Hiro,” Hiro answered as he walked over. “I'm here to find the king.”

“The King is my Father,” the girl said. “He is hiding, I will not say where. Get me out of here and I will show you.”

“Where is the key?” Hiro asked, ad he looked over his shoulder, after hearing a noise, coming down the stairs.

“The Dungeon Lord has it,” The princess said. “Hide quick he's coming.”

Hiro ran to a shadowy corner and hid behind an Iron Maiden as a figure in Dark Armor walked into the dimly lit room. His footsteps clanged and echoed around the room as he walked over to the Cell Where the Princess was. A deep voice emitted as he spoke. “Where is the King? Tell us and we will let you go.”

“Do you think I would tell you?” The Princess spat out. “So that... That Swine can take the throne?”

Hiro slipped a little as he listened to this causing the Iron maiden to skid a little. “Dammit,” Hiro muttered under his breath as he dashed away into the shadows under a table. “That was close.”

The Dungeon Lord walked slowly over to the Iron maiden, his back was to Hiro as he opened the Iron Maiden. Hiro took this as his chance. He drew the Bronze Sword and charged forwards, ramming the Dungeon Lord into the Iron Maiden and slamming it as he grabbed the key from his belt. A Loud Roar emitted from the figure in the Iron maiden as Hiro ran towards the Princesses cell.

The Iron maiden burst open as the Dungeon Lord stumbled out. His armor protected him to a point, but the armor was almost destroyed now. “YOU!” He bellowed “DIE!” HE grabbed a Giant Cleaver from the table and charged forward. Speed was on Hiro's side here. The Dungeon Lord was big and weighted down by heavy armor, while Hiro was Small and was in light Armor.

The Cleaver met only Air as Hiro dodged to the side and back around for an attack. The Sword found a Hole in the Armor and sunk deep into his side. As Hiro pulled the sword out the figure let out a moan and fell to the ground. The Sword had severed the Spine. As a last Ditch effort to kill Hiro The Dungeon Lord Swiped the Cleaver into the wooden shield that Hiro carried, splitting it into two. That was the last of the Strength the figure could muster and let out a final set of words. “You Will never succeed. Garrik will, be ki...” The Figures voice trailed off as he faded into the abyss.

Hiro took the key and unlocked the Cell door and grabbed the Shield from the Dungeon Master, he needed a new one considering his was destroyed. He Slung the Shield over his back and threw the cloak he was wearing to the Princess. “Put that on,” Hiro ordered. “I can Sneak you out of here if you are not noticed.”

“This way,” The princess said taking the lead towards a small side passage. Half way down she pulled a torch from the wall, and then pressed a stone in. “In here.”A small secret passage opened up and she ducked in. The passage was a dark earthen tunnel. “My father is at the Sanctuary, The last place that Swine would ever think to look. Considering it is a holy place and him and his armies are of pure evil, they would dare not set foot there.” The passage led on forever and what seemed to be miles. Finally the Passage came to an end and another stone wall. The Princess pulled a lever and the wall swung forth, The room it opened into was a vast chamber lined with Paintings of Saints, and Prophecy's. The king stood before an altar cowering for fear of his life. “Father!” The Princess shouted as she ran forward and Hiro walked out of the tunnel behind her as the wall sealed shut.

“Nasya,” The King said swinging his arms around his daughter. “How did you get away?”

“I Helped her,” Hiro piped up. “You must be the king. I'm the Hero of Legend. I'm here to save the land from evil.”

Chapter four: The Story of the Sword

“For saving my daughter I thank you,” the King said. “Please take this as a Token of my appreciation.” The king handed Hiro a small ring with a red ruby inset in it. “It is a Ring of Power, one of the Four artifacts of the Ancients. You already have the Armor of the Ancients, So you must be the one that Prophecy speaks of. The Cuirass that you wear is the Armor of Speed, giving the wearer increased speed. The Ring of power increases your Strength. These are two of the Four artifacts that will grant you access to the Mystic Forest and the Starlight Blade.”

“The Starlight Blade?” Hiro asked confused.

“The Starlight Blade is the Sword of the great Ancient Warrior,” The King Answered. “A long long time ago a Evil Dragon That Terrorized the was defeated by a Warrior. The Warrior was a Hidorian Named Jarall The Great. The Hidorian Race is known in legend as the great Saviors of man.”

“I am a Hidorian,” Hiro said as he removed the Cowl that covered his head, revealing his pointed ears. “Where are the other two Artifacts?”

“All I know are the Names,” The king said as he hung his head ans walked over to one of the Tapestries. “The Boots of the Messenger, and The Mercury Shield. The Ancients only Know there locations. And they have been lost for centuries.”

“What?” Yogto's Voice said popping in. “We have not been lost, We're were we always been, No one ever comes to where we are. This King is a Fool, if he thinks that we have been lost for Centuries.” Yogto seemed to be slightly annoyed. Considering the Royal Family was supposed to be the keeper of the Legends and Prophecies.

“I Hear The Voice of One of them,” Hiro said as Yogto grew Quiet. “His name is Yogto. I will not say what he called you just now.”

“You hear the Voices of the Ancients?” The king said almost falling over from surprise. “You truly are the hero that we have waited for. The last known Ancients have lived on Mount Lucis. Also know as the Mountain of the Ancients. But more of the Story. The Blade has a slight radiant glow about it even in the darkest dark. Jarall used this sword to slay the dragon. During the battle he was Fatally Wounded. With his last bit of strength he placed the Blade in the center of the Mystic Forest, With his life fading he uttered his last words by the stump that the blade was stabbed into. 'This My Sword The Starlight Blade, I leave to the one who is worthy of receiving it. My Cuirass I leave to my Squire, Keep it safe for the one who one day will save this world. My Ring, I leave to the Royal Family, Keep it Safe for the one who will be destined to save this world. My Boots, and Shield I leave to the Ancients, Hied them some where safe, Only the one who is truly the one to save this world shall revive them. With my Dieing breath I place a spell on this forest to hide my blade till the one comes for it.' That was his last words. He fell dead with that, The forest would not let the body go. It is rumored that the body is Preserved by the Forest Spell, bound to a tree, Guarding his sword till the one who is destined to wield the sword arrives.”

“So what is this Prophecy about?” Hiro asked.

“Prophecy?” The king asked. “Why do you ask of such things, You have seen our lands. That is the Prophecy. 'When the Sun disappears from the sky, Fire will rain down from the heavens. A dark shadow will take hold of the land. A great depression will ensue. Crops will fail, and monsters will roam the plains. The world will seem as if it will be coming to an end. When this time comes a hero will arise. The Mystic Forest will allow this hero to pass into its borders and The Starlight Blade will be his.' That is the Prophecy.”

“Hiro,” Yogto said inside Hiro's head. “Listen you now know the full story. Come to Mount Lucis, we will speak directly once you get here.”

“Where is Mount Lucis?” Hiro asked in his head, but there was no response. “Yogto wants me to travel to Mount Lucis But where is it?”

“It's To the north about 3 days travel to the mountains,” The king Answered. “And another days travel to the Solar Caves, which will take you to Mount Lucis.”

Hiro did not respond, he just picked up the cloak that the Princess let fall to the ground and flung it back around over his shoulders and Re donned the Cowl and walked off into the Twilight.

Chapter Five: The Boots and a Quick Escape

Slowly the Sun rose into the sky as Hiro trudged on Towns loomed in the Distance, Noises Erupting from the forest, and Ruins lining the path. The Sun was high in the sky when Hiro heard a child. “Someone, anyone help!”

Hiro walked over towards the Ruins, Crumbling Columns and faded runes covered the place. Hiro found the place. Hiro found where the shouts were coming from. It was the Entrance to the Ruins a small child was sitting there crying. “What happened?” Hiro asked the Child.

“It's... It's Papa,” the child cried. “He went in there over ten hours ago, and her hasn't came back out. He said that he would be back soon.”

“Why did he go in there?” Hiro asked his interest piqued.

“Something about a Legendary Treasure,” The kid sobbed.

“Treasure huh?” Hiro said thinking. “And a Legendary one at that?”

“Hiro,” Yogto said. “Can you hear me?”

“What is it Yogto?” Hiro said with an annoyed tone.

“The Boots,” Yogto said cutting the story short. “The Legendary Treasure. The Boots of the messenger. I think the child's father is looking for them. But only the one who is destined to retrieve them shall. You must hurry.”

“Okay Yogto,” Hiro said. “I get these boots, and maybe save this kids father, then what?” There was no answer Yogto just faded back out. He only seemed to pop in when he had something important to say, but then he never gave the full story. Which pisses Hiro off, because he seems to leave out that one important Detail. “Stop crying kid, I'll see what I can do.”

Hiro grabbed a torch from the pack that the kid had sitting by him and lit it up, as he walked in. The ruins were covered in broken spiderwebs and a strange cold. Deeper and Deeper the Tunnel went into the Ruins and Colder it got. Hiro wrapped the Cloak that he was wearing tighter. A Light was coming from up ahead. Torches along the wall's were burning with Blue flames. A Low moaning nose was coming from up ahead could it be the kids father? Hiro could only hope that he was still in one piece. The thing that was making the noise was the blood covered figure of a human propped against a wall.

“Unghhhh,” The Bloody figure moaned. “Too powerful.”

“What is?” Hiro asked bending over to look at the figure.

“Wy... Wyrm,” The figure Sputtered. “Only the chosen may take the boots. I was a fool.”

“Shh,” Hiro said calming the figure. “It was foolish of you to try and take something of legend. Something that belongs to me.” Hiro smirked, as he thought about it. Hiro the hero. It had a catchy ring to it. He stood up and walked deeper in. A Giant Worm like Dragon was coiled around a pedestal which the Boots of the Messenger laid upon.

A low growling voice spoke as Hiro approached. “Be warned all that approach for thou art the ancient guardian of the boots of the messenger, Only the one who is destined to retrieve them shall. Many before have tried, many have died. Some have lived and gave up. If thee truly are the one destined to retrieve these boots then thee may. But be warned, if thee are not, Thy have no problem killing thee.” The Wyrm slowly moved uncoiling it self.

“Ancient Guardian of The Boots of the Hiro, a Hidorian, I am the One who Prophecy speaks off, let me pass!” The Armor and Ring seemed to glow slightly, as they called out longing for the boots to be rejoined to them.

“Long has been the days,” The Wyrm spoke as it uncoiled completely letting Hiro to the boots. “That thy has waited for the one, to retrieve the boots. Thy purpose hath been fulfilled.” With that last sentence the Wyrm turned to stone, its yellow eyes to Amber.

Hiro put the boots on and instantly a feeling of being light as a feather washed over him. The armor seemed to no longer bog him down. He slipped the cloak back over himself as he walked back to where the kids father laid. “As I said, The boots belong to me,” Hiro said as he helped him up and pulled him onto his back. As he carried the kids father out of the ruins the tunnel behind them began to collapse. Hiro took off at full speed as the Tunnel Collapsed behind them and kept collapsing. The Entrance was insight, With one last Dash Hiro Jumped out of the Entrance as clouds of dust and dirt came gushing out as the tunnel completely sealed itself. “Hey kid, Take good care of him. He'll live but his Adventuring days are over.” Hiro waved as he ran back off onto the path he was heading, the boots making him feel light as a feather, made up for the fatigue that the armor would have caused as he speed on. The sun was starting to drift low in the western sky. It would be night in a few hours and he needed to make up for lost time.

Chapter 6: The Mountains and the Solar Caves

It has been 2 days since Hiro left the Ruins, no one to talk to, since that last village where he bought some supplies. Yogto hadn't spoke to him. He was just starting to get into the mountains. The wind was getting colder, and the road steeper. Slowly, but surely, the road wound upwards into the mountains. The sun was high in the sky when Hiro stopped for a rest. “So it's about a day before I get to the Solar caves?” He asked himself. As he sat on a stone riping into a piece of bread, and taking a swig of water from his water bladder. The wind gust up ruffling the bottom of the cloak, which was filthy with mud now. He attached some strings down the front of the cloak to tie it shut when the wind kicked up which was a great idea. As the cloak kept the cold bitterness of the wind from stinging him.

A Small Rift in the mountains had to be passed which would take some time, considering the narrowness of the ledge. It was night when Hiro found the end, and a small alcove to rest in. The hole night Hiro's rest was troubled by horrid dreams a dark figure and him were in battle throughout the dream. Could this be a premonition of things to come? Only time will Tell. Hiro awoke and kept heading north as the sun started to fill the pass that he was walking through.

“Hiro,” Yogto finally spoke to him after 3 days. “A Small Rift is coming up to the west go down into it. That is the way you will get to the Solar Caves.”

“Is there anything else I should know about Yogto?” Hiro asked with a tone of annoyance. “Considering you sent me into a Set of Ruins to get something that was guarded by a Wyrm, and the ruins collapsing as I left.”

“No,” Yogto said. “There shouldn't be anything in the caves. This is a holy place. Evil does not come near.”

“You better be right,” Hiro muttered as he slowly descended into the Rift. The wind here was immense as the wind kicked up the year round snow. As blinding as it was the opening to a cave was visible, at the very bottom of the rift. Hiro took it as the Entrance to the Solar caves and went in. “Wow so thats why they are called the Solar Caves?” The Caves were studded with Glowing Crystals that Let off a wash of light to make it seem as if it was daylight constantly.

Hiro trudged on through the caves looking about in wonderment as he walked through them. The Crystals Varied in size but the Radiance all stayed the same. How long was he in here? Only time would tell, when the end was found and what the outside light was. After what seemed like for ever Hiro finally made it out of the Caves and back on the path, the snow and wind seemed to just have gone away. The valley that he was in was bright and warm.

At the end of the valley was a stone staircase that seemed to reach into the heavens. Apparently this was Mount Lucis. Hiro took to the steps at a good pace, no matter how far he looked they just seemed to go on for eternity. The sun was setting to the west as Hiro began to see the top of the steps. He quickened his pace.

“You are finally here,” Yogto's Voice rang out, but this time it had an echo, about it, it was not inside his head. “Welcome, please come.”

“So you are Yogto,” Hiro said as he stood at the top of the steps looking at the little creature in front of him. The first thought that came to mind was short. Yogto only seemed to be two and a half feet in height. Then Old and Wrinkly came to mind.

Chapter seven: The Story only the Ancients can tell.

“I know what you are thinking,” Yogto said, without turning around as he walked into the temple. “It is true I am short and I am old. I have lived for eight hundred years. I was but a mere child when Jarall The Great, died. You see, Hiro, you and I are linked by more than this prophecy. There is one thing about the Hidorian Race.” Yogto pulled his hood down, the same pointed ears as Hiro has were visible. “If left to peace, we have a long life span. Jarall was two hundred when he died, and you...” Yogto turned around to get a better look at Hiro. “You have no recollection of your life correct?”

Hiro tried to think but he could not remember anything before he woke up in the house. “Nothing.” He said hanging his head.

“That is not to be unexpected young one,” Yogto said trying to comfort Hiro. “When a Hidorian is called to fulfill a Prophecy one my lose memory. Judging by the looks of it, I would say that you are anywhere around the age of one hundred to one hundred and fifty. Still a child in the eyes of most Hidorian's. The longest one has ever been know to live is two thousand thousand years. We live to be around around fifteen hundred normally.”

“So The Ancients are Hidorian's,” Hiro muttered pacing a bit. “And This Jarall guy, was the savior of this world what six seven hundred years ago?”

“Yes,” Yogto answered. “In this land we are know as the Ancients because of this fact, The average human lifespan is 80 years. We actually hail from a mystic land, beyond the Mystic Forest at the Edge of the world. Every so often Young ones will Venture out into this world of Humans and will take it up on there selves to lead them as the Ancients. And then there are those that are summoned. Such as you and Jarall. Both of you were summoned here because of The Gods Will. You see, The Hidorian's are the ones that the humans revere as the gods. But truth be told, we are just Disciples to the three. Nami, Lork, and Pora. When something is predicted by the Seers to happen, it is written as prophecy. But if it is to ever come to pass, the Gods will intervene. In most cases it is a bountiful harvest before a war is to ensue, or a flood to end the great fires that the humans set by accident or on purpose. But when it involves the need of a hero, they will choose one wipe there memory of anything they ever knew and bestow upon the Monks that live in this Temple to lead them.”

“Wait,” Hiro said confused. “The Gods choose me to save the humans?” Rage filled him slightly. “My Life could have been something great, and knowing my luck, as was the Luck of This Jarall, I'll be killed, before I could live my life out to an old age.”

“If it is the Gods will that you survive it is the Gods Will,” Yogto said as he bowed slightly. “If they wish you die then you will die. There is nothing you can do about that. But if they were to let you die you would be given a place of honor in the realm beyond. A throne beside the heroes of old, Jarall the Great, Kogorasa the Demon King, and so forth.”

“That really doesn't console me that much,” Hiro snapped. “Now where is this Shield. The Mercury Shield.”

“The Shield is here,” Yogto said. “It is guarded by by the Trials of the three, if you can pass you will Receive the Shield. First is the Trial of Nami, Then the Trial of Lork, and Finally The Trial of Pora. Or The Trial of Wit, The Trial of Courage and the Trial of Faith. Seeing as you are the Destined one, you should not have a problem.”

“Then lets get this over with,” Hiro said as Yogto lead on.

“I will not accompany you into the Faith,” Yogto said as he stopped before a stone door. “But I will Guide you at the beginning of each trial. The First Trial is the Trial of Nami Also know as the Trial of Wit. You will need to use your Wit, to find the right path and what is an illusion.”

“Then let's get this over with,” Hiro said as he stood before the door.

Chapter eight: The Trial's of the Gods

The stone door opened as Hiro took a deep breath and walked into the stone chamber of the Faith. A womans voice spoke as the stone door closed behind him. “I am the Goddess Nami To find what you seek you must pass my Trial. Beware Illusion and Deceit will be your Enemies here. What is real and what is not, you must decide for yourself.”

The chamber was bathed in light when the voice stopped speaking laying in front of Hiro was 3 paths. Which was the right he did not know. He paced back and forth towards each tunnel looking at them they were all pitch black and nothing could be seen. “Only one is right, the other two are wrong, Which path is it?” Hiro muttered as he paced. “The most logical one would be the center but then They would think that someone would instantly choose the center, so that would defiantly be wrong. If there was some way I could split myself into three this would not be a problem. Which way is it?” Hiro sat and looked at the paths before him. Wit was right, this is a maze of traps and deceit, which is the right path is beyond him. “I guess it's just going to be a choice of faith.”

Hiro closed his eyes and let his feet lead him, through the path that they saw fit. Which lead him through the path to the left. He opened his eyes as the path lit up, and on and on into another chamber. The same choice laid ahead this time it was two. An even harder choice because now the odds are greater. There is no longer the choice of three one is the wrong and one if the right. He walked towards one of the paths but felt a strange presence like something was lying in wait for him to come down this path, Could this be a trap? Could it be an Illusion? He walked over towards the other path but felt nothing, no presence coming from it. But a strange feeling arose in the pit of his stomach. Surely this was the wrong path. He walked back towards the path that he felt the prescience in and went down it. After a few minutes of carefully moving nothing showed it self. Surely the path was the right one. It was all an Illusion.

Slowly but surely the path lead on, Illusions and traps were the least of it, The path wound its way through the stone chamber, More than once he found himself where he started moments ago. Till he came to a giant stone chamber with a Hydra sitting in the Center. Hiro stopped dead, at the site of the seven headed monstrosity. “Are we real?” One of the heads asked. “Are we an Illusion?” Another head asked. “We are Legion for we are many,” The other five chanted in Unison.

“YOU ARE NOT REAL!” Hiro Shouted as he walked forward. “YOU ARE AN ILLUSION!” Hiro kept walking forward the Gate to the next Chamber of the Faith laid on the other end of the room. Hiro kept telling himself if he believed that it was real the it was real if he believed that it was not real then it was not real. Which helped to prove useful as Legion Disappeared as he walked through it. The gate opened and into the next chamber Hiro walked.

“Hiro,” Yogto said. “I see you made it past the First Trial. This is the Trial of Lork, The Trial of Courage. Good Luck.”

“Gee thanks,” Hiro said Venomously as Yogto said that last bit. Hiro walked forward into the chamber. As he looked around he noticed that it was a giant Arena of sorts when he was in the center of it.

“Welcome to my Domain,” A gruff mans voice boomed. “You have made it this far, I am surprised, You are smarter than you look. But are you A Strong Willed Fighter. Face my Chosen guardian and win you will then be permitted to exit this arena.” A Small opening appeared in the floor in front of Hiro as a beast arose. “Behold, The Konori.” The voice let out a Low long booming laugh as a Giant Beast that looked like a cross between a turkey, Lion, and a Cow. Charged forth.

Hiro looked at the creature and felt one thing Pity, He drew his sword and pulled the shield from his back. As the beats charged he slid backwards as the Shield and the beast collided. The sword came around to meet with the beak of this foul beast. Ripping away some of its flesh. Blood poured forth, as the gash opened when the blade was withdrawn.

The beast's claws clung into Hiro's flesh more than once as the battle ragged on. Slowly Hiro hacked away at the unrelenting Konori. Blood stained the arena floor and Hiro's Armor, Blade, and Shield. It took ages for the beast to finally fall.

“Well would you look at that,” The Voice said with a laugh. “The Kid has some spunk in him. On you go.”

“Congratulations,” Yogto said. “The final test is at hand go forth and claim the shield.”

“I wonder how hard it would be to kill that bastard,” Hiro thought aloud, as he climbed the staircase that rose to the next gate. “I mean he's putting me through hell, and did I ask to do this?” Hiro walked through the gate, to find the next chamber wasn't a chamber per say. But a giant gorge The shield laid on a pedestal on the other side. “Now this is just great. How the hell am I supposed to get over there?”

“Blessed is the one who shall receive the Mercury Shield,” A very feminine male voice said. “For the one who has Faith shall be able to cross the gorge and receive the shield. Have Faith and the path will be clear.”

“Have Faith and the path will be clear?” Hiro asked. “Theres nothing there... Unless.”Hiro took up a handful of dirt from around him and spread it out in front of it. Most of it fell into the pit except for one small patch which just floated in the air. “You have got to be kidding me. An Invisible Bridge? Oh well, if this is a trick. I've had a good life, all that I can remember anyways.”

Hiro took a step forward expecting the worse but when he didn't fall forward he took it as a sign and set off forward cautiously. Slowly but surely, Hiro made his way to the other side. The shield was within his grasp.

The Polished surface of the shield gave a mirrored look, as the light from the day light above reflected off it. He picked up the shield. As Hiro grasped the shield three orbs of light appeared The Gods spoke. “The Prophecy, has been fulfilled,” The gods said. “The Starlight Blade is now yours, go to the Mystic Forest and take what is yours.”

Chapter nine: The Mystic Forest and The Sword

The three Orbs of light flew into Hiro and he felt a strange power pulse through him. Then a feeling as if he was vaporised and then put back together moments latter. The Gods, had teleported him to the Mystic Forest. The musty smell of pine loomed all around in th forest. A Light tune played off in the distance, nothing stirred in the forest.

A Strange force pulled Hiro into the direction the music was coming from. A Thick Mist surrounded Hiro but parted as he walked forward. A Clearing opened up in the middle of the clearing was a Giant Ancient Oak tree, with what looked like a freshly dead body, of a man with pointed ears and a stump before the tree was where the Starlight Blade laid.

Hiro picked up the Sword, a soft glow emitted from the Blade of the sword. The Blade itself was a long slender blade, the Handle had a Ruby inset into the Hilt, Strange Runic Markings were scrawled up the blade. “Is quisnam habitum vesica Imperium vox superum,” Hiro muttered as he read the Runes. They were familiar to him for some reason.

A Figure playing a flute appeared out of no where, giving Hiro a start. “Congratulations Hiro,” The Figure said with a Devilish grin upon its face when it stopped playing. “I am Rephaim, My master Garrick is waiting for you. For you are the one who is destined to fight my master.” Rephaim snapped his fingers and everything went blank as the world vanished.

Chapter ten: The Realm of Shadows and The final battle.

Hiro found himself in the middle of a wasteland before him sat a throne. A Man sat on the throne looking directly at Hiro as he stood up, looking around. “Welcome Hiro,” the figure said with a deep voice. “Welcome to the Realm of Shadows. Welcome to my world.” The figure stood up and grabbed a Giant Scythe that sat beside the throne. “Hiro the Hero. What a joke, A mere child defeat me? What were the god thinking? Never the less, You shall meet a warriors end.” The figure stood straight the long blade of the scythe stuck out to the left behind him as the pole stuck to the right at an angle.

“You must be Garrik,” Hiro said coldly. “And what makes you think I'm gonna die?”

“This,” Garrik said as he swung the Scythe out in front of him a glint of light caught the blade as he held it in front of him. “My Scythe will rip you to shreds.”

“Have at it,” Hiro said as he flipped his shield around onto his left arm and held the Starlight Blade in his right hand.

“Have it your way,” Garrik said swinging the Scythe to his right charging forward, taking a swing at Hiro which he was able to doge just as the blade came with in inches of him. Just as Hiro thought. The shear size of the Scythe was its only advantage. The momentum the scythe had was devastating but the attack can be dodged with ease if you have speed on your side, and its attack pattern's are simple, Side Swoop and a Diagonal up sweep were all its ability could do. But then Hiro was surprised when Garrick took another swing in a downward motion shattering the rock and ground below the Scythe.

“You fail to see the power of this weapon,” Garrick laughed. “Here let me show you.” Garrik went into a frenzy slashing at air ripping away at the ground and sending shattered rocks flying at Hiro.

The Shield came in handy as the chunks of rock pelted Hiro. There was no chance in hell that Hiro could get close with that Scythe moving like it was. Best let Garrik Tire himself out before making a move. Hiro dashed all about dodging his attacks. Slowly but surely the attacks were slowing down as Garrik tired. Hiro jumped towards him slashing forward. The Starlight Blade clashed with the blade of the Scythe. “How you move so fast with that Scythe,” Hiro grunted. “Is beyond me. But I'm faster.” Hiro used his momentum of the clashing blades to flip around behind Garrick taking a swing slashing at the Back plate of his armor. A small crack appeared as Garrik sung around feeling the blow to his back bringing the Scythe in for a swoop the blade of the Scythe was too far back to cause any harm but the pole slammed into the shield sending Hiro flying.

There was no chance to recover before landing so Hiro skidded to a halt before slowly standing back up. Hiro wiped the blood away from bus mouth with his right hand that was still holding the sword. “So his armor is weak,” Hiro muttered as he stared down Garrik. “If I can some how take out the armor, I can get him but then I have to get it from the back.”

Hiro charged forward and threw the shield as a diversion to slip behind Garrik and take a few more blows to the the back plate of the armor. “Not that move again,” Garrik grunted as the sword landed its second blow to the back plate of his armor. “Haven't you learned?”

Garrik sung back around but this time Hiro was ready for it. With the shield gone he had a little more mobility to fall flat to the ground. “Not this time Garrik,” Hiro said swinging the sword into Garrik's leg, taking a chunk out of the armor on his boots. And rolling away as the scythe cam crashing down to where he was sitting.

“You truly are a formidable opponent,” Garrik said as he up rooted the Scythe from the ground. “I will enjoy killing you.” Garrik went into a Wild spin as he slowly edged towards Hiro, but the scythe crashed into a rock and deeply embedded it self into it.

Hiro to this as his chance and slashed the pole off of the Scythe near the blade. “Can't have you trying to kill me that easily,” Hiro laughed as he looked into Garrik's shocked face. “Now lets get to it.” Hiro grasped the bottom part of the Starlight Blades handle with his other hand. Sweeping low and holding the sword over his head with the point turned towards Garrik.

“Damn you!” Garrik shouted as he charged forward swinging the pole like a mad man. “BY THE TIME I'M DONE WITH YOU. YOU WILL BE BEGGING ME TO KILL YOU!”

Hiro barely dodged or blocked the attacks. Garrik's attacks were getting faster due to the lack of the blade on the Scythe. The only chance Hiro would have is to destroy the pole completely. Hiro took that as the initiative to block attacks with another attack. Slowly the Pole dwindled to a baton that was useless.

Battered and bruised Hiro stood before the weaponless Garrik. Garrik had lost, and he knew it, he fell to his knees. “Please kind warrior spare my life,” Garrik pleaded. “I am defeated.”

“I'm afraid I can't do that,” Hiro whispered. “I can not take the chance that you will rise to power once again.” Hiro took the sword and swung it high into the air. Brining it down onto the top of Garrik's head but not with enough power to kill him. “But I will say this before I send you on to the next world. You were a valiant fighter. May the Gods have pity on you.” With the last words Hiro pulled the blade back and swung around cleaving Garrik's head from his shoulders. The 3 orbs of light that the Gods showed them selves as appeared before Hiro once more. Hiro knelt down his sword in front of him.

“You showed logic and strategy to defeat one much more powerful than you,” Nami praised. “Well done Valiant Warrior.”

“You fought a Courageous Battle,” Lork laughed. “Well done Valiant Warrior.”

“You showed great compassion,” Pora wept. “Well Done Valiant Warrior.”

“Rise Hiro the Hero,” All three of them said in unison. “For you are a hero of legend.” A Searing pain shot through Hiro's right hand as three Red Circles appeared on the back of his hand. “The mark of the Gods shall serve you well. Wit, Courage, and Faith. They are all strengths of a great warrior. May our paths cross once more.”

“May our paths Cross once more,” Hiro said picking up the shield. “Now can I get a little help out of here?”

The feeling of being ripped apart and put back together washed over Hiro as the God's sent Hiro back to the world of the humans and back into the grand hall of Mount Lucis. The monks of the Temple were all gathered round stunned as Yogto looked onto the figure that stood before him. Hiro was no longer the same young Hidorian that he had met. But a True weathered warrior. The Starlight blade softly glowed as blood dripped from its tip.

Chapter eleven: Shadows lifted.

“Hiro,” Yogto Squeaked. “You did it, The Prophecy has been fulfilled. The Shadow that has grasped this land has been lifted.”

Hiro looked at the little Hidorian that stood before him. A look of accomplishment upon his face. “Garrik is dead,” Hiro said as the wiped the blade on his cloak and slid it in behind the shield on his back. “Now if you will excuse me I have matters to attend to.”

“Go forth to the king,” Yogto said. “Remember Hidorian's have a special link that allows one to speak to others far off, or know what one close by is thinking. If we ever need you again, we will talk to you, But let us help you on your way. The trip is long but it will be quicker if you will allow us to assist you.” Yogto walked over to a side chamber and Hiro followed him into it.

The chamber had a high domed roof with a giant Crystal in the middle of the floor. “What is this?” Hiro asked in wonder.

“This is the teleportation room,” Yogto answered grabbing a pendant from the case on one wall. “And before you ask, The only way to use it is to have one of theses.” Yogto handed a pendant to Hiro. “These Crystal Pendants have a link to the Crystal in the center of the room, it will allow you to travel to and forth from here as long as you know where you which to go.”

“Well then,” Hiro sighed as he put the Crystal around his neck. “How do I do this?”

“Close your eyes and image the place you wish to go in your mind,” Yogto said.

Hiro closed his eyes picturing the sanctuary in his mind, the now oh so unpleasant familiarity of having a feeling as of being ripping you apart passed over as he teleported to the sanctuary. The musty smell of dust was replaced by the sickly sweet smell of the flowers out side of the Sanctuary, and the king looked as if he was about to fall over looking at the figure that just appeared before him.

“HIRO!” The king sputtered. “How did you just appear out of thin air?”

“With this,” Hiro said as he pulled the Crystal Pendant from his neck. “But there are more pressing matters. Garrik is dead, The land is safe, take back to your throne.”

“Well done,” the King Cried. “Kneel.” Hiro obligingly knelt down his head bowed before the king. The king took his sword and taped Hiro on the head and each shoulder. “Rise Sir Hiro, Hero of the lands of Narul. Now is there anything I can do for you Sir Knight?”

“Well,” Hiro said thinking. “I would like a home on the coastal region with a small plot of land. Near the home of those who found me the Ancestors of the Squire of Jarall Orrin and his daughter Sara.”

“Consider it granted,” The king said. “You will stay at the Castle as my guest till your home has been built. Now a celebration of Garrik's defeat shall be held."

Chapter twelve: A Feast

The castle bustled with life as a celebration was being prepared. It had been 3 days since Garrik's defeat, Hiro had spent his days wandering the courtyard and the Walls of the Castle. He had retold his story to the bards who were busy preparing songs of glory. Royal Architects had gone over designs of a grand house with Hiro but were all shot down. A simple house with a large garden was all Hiro wanted and all he really needed.

Finally the feast was to begin, Lords and and knights from across the land had come to the celebration. Hiro had the place of honor beside the king. A roast boar was carried in and set on the table. The feast was a merry event. Everyone was laughing as the Jesters entertained. Bards sang songs of the Great Hiro the Hero, and his defeat of Garrik.

The Ale flowed the night round, the food was ate. Everyone that was talking admits themselves, turned silent when the king stood and spoke. “Lord's, Lady's, and Noble Knight's. A Dark time has came and went. What is to come only time will tell. The dark shadow that has grasped this land has been lifted. Evil has been banished, and Peace has been restored.” The king stopped for a second, as he raised his goblet. “To Prosperous Times and peace till the end of time!”

“HERE HERE!” Echoed through the room as the Nobles raised there goblets in salute to the toast.

Hiro took this as a way to quickly sneak away from the feast. A Grand Feast was nice but Hiro wished for some time alone. He walked the battlements of the castle, the calm breeze of the night gave a soothing feel as the moon shone bright up ahead. Hiro looked out onto the rolling fields and thick forest that laid before the castle as a figure approached.

“I thought you might be here,” The princess said as she drew closer. “I saw you sneak away after the toast.” She grabbed hold of Hiro and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “May you find happiness and live a prosperous life Sir Hiro the Hero.”

“Princess,” Hiro began slightly blushing. “I do not know how old you think I am but I am old enough to be the Father of your Fathers Father. But I will say this.” Hiro took the Princesses hand into his hand and kissed it. “My you find your knight in shining armor.”

With that said he stalked off to his chambers to get to sleep. There is no way he could ever allow him self to fall in love with the princess. It is not because he does not like her. No This is a land of Humans, and Hidorian's live for centuries. This is the reason why Hiro can never allow himself to become part of the Royal Family. A King who will live for centuries could easily become a God, in the eyes of humans. It is better to live a modest life than to become a god.

Chapter thirteen: A Peaceful Life: Three Years Latter

“Hello Hiro,” Orrin said as he walked through the garden gate, followed by Sara. “Happy Birthday.”

“Hello friends,” Hiro said putting down the Lute that he was playing. “And thank you.” Today marks the third year since Hiro was found laying on the beach. Seeing as Hiro had no recollection of his past this day has now became his birthday. Hiro looked as if he hadn't aged a day, While everyone around him didn't age so gracefully. He stood up and shook Orrin's hand before Giving Sara a hug. “Sara you must find yourself a man. Someone as young and pretty as you should not be alone in this world.”

“Stop it,” Sara said pounding Hiro on the arm a bit. “We came here to see you not to argue about my love life. Besides I'd rather live my life alone spend my days with my friends like you than find someone.”

“Sara,” Hiro said shaking his head. “I am ten times your age and will live ten times longer than you. You need to find someone to keep your families blood line. But enough about that come on in.” Hiro walked over to the door,walking inside, with his guest in tow. The Armor, Boots, The Crystal Pendant, and Sword were hanging on the wall. A Smell of cooking Vegetables and meat filled the air. “You two got here right on time. The food just about done. And Sara in the Cubbard is a bottle of Mead can you get it?” Hiro took the Iron Pot that was on the Wood Stove in the corner and set it onto the table while pulling the loaves of bread that he fixed earlier off of the window seal. The smell of the Sea washed into the house along with the summer breeze. It mixed with the smell of the freshly prepared meal.

“This is for you,” Orrin said handing over a basket that had a slew of Root Vegetables and a few jars of honey.

“Thank you,” Hiro said taking the basket and sitting it on a small table over in a corner. While picking up a half empty jar of honey.

“Happy Birthday,” Sara said handing a small clumsily wrapped package to Hiro. “I Hope you like it.” Hiro unwrapped the package, inside was a new Tunic Green as a mint leaf, and Stitched with leather bindings. “I thought the color would bring out your eyes.”

“Thank you Sara,” Hiro said giving her a hug. “I love it.” Hiro took the Tunic and put in in the Cubbard where his clothes were. “Well lets eat.” Hiro, Orrin and Sara sat down at the table serving out the Stew that was in the pot and the bread that was freshly baked.

“I don't know how you do it,” Orrin said, after he ate a spoonful of the stew. “But Your cooking is amazing.”

“You are to kind,” Hiro said tearing into a loaf of bread. “Sara's cooking is way better than mine and she's the one who taught me how to cook.”

“Well thats probably why,” Orrin laughed. “Sara is one fine cook.”

“Both of you stop it,” Sara said blushing slightly. “I'm not that great of a cook. Besides, it's not the cook it's the ingredients.” She stopped speaking looking at both of them. Both kept wonderful gardens and some of the best Herbs and Vegetables in two days walks from here could be found in there gardens.

“Excuse me,” A man dressed in armor said as he stood in the door. “Might this be the home of a Sir Hiro?”

“It is,” Hiro said standing up and wiping his mouth. “And I am him. May I help you?”

“I am to deliver this to you,” The man said handing a letter over. “That is all.” The man turned and walked off with out another word.

Hiro turned the scroll over in his hands the Royal Seal was pressed into the wax. “Whats this?” Hiro muttered as he broke the seal, it's been a while since he received anything from the king. The letter read.

'Sir Hiro,
You presence is requested at the union of Princess Oriana of The lands of Narul and Zohar Son of the the Lord Of the Southern Fire Mist Mountains. The celebration will be one week from the Eve of The Festival of Hero's.

“Princess Oriana is to be wed one week from the Festival of Hero's,” Hiro said as he sat back down.

“Thats wonderful news,” Sara said.

“Would you like to come as a guest?” Hiro asked Sara. The note at the bottom of the letter proclaims the kings wish for me to come and also says to bring a guest. So how about it? Will you be my guest for this?”

Sara looked from Hiro to her father who just nodded. Then back at Hiro, tears forming in her eyes. “Of course I will.”

The rest of the night passed by, in a blur of Ale, food, mead, and talking. It was late into the night when the festivities ended. Orrin stumbled out of the door supported by Sara. Walked with them to make sure that they got Orrin into there house in one piece. After they managed to get Orrin into his bed, Sara saw Hiro out and then went to he loft.

Hiro walked slowly back to his house along the shore. 3 years ago, he was found lying half dead on this exact beach. No memory of who he was or where he had came from. A Tear shed from his eye as he stood there Never to see his home land again. The waves crashed softly on the beach and the smell of the Salt in air had become such a second nature and comfort that e loved it where he was. Once back in his home he bolted the door shut and crashed on to the feather bed that sat in the back corner near the Wood Stove.

Chapter Fourteen: Happiness

The day of the wedding was here, as Hiro awoke before the sun rose, as was usual. He walked out side to fetch water, for a hot bath. Stared out into the ocean. The sky was clear and the day itself was looking to be nice.

After the Hot bath Hiro put on a fine pair of Pants and the Tunic that Sara had given for his birthday. He then grabbed the Crystal Pendant from the wall and Went to Mount Lucis. The light of the day was staring to show as Hiro stopped before the altar as his usual morning Routine before borrowing another Pendant for Sara to use for the day.

He went back to his home and sat on the porch playing his Lute watching the Sun fully Rise out of the sea. The Scene that he watched Day in and Day out. It was well past 10 before he headed down to meet Sara. Orrin Answered the door when Hiro knocked.

“Hello there,” Orrin laughed as he lead Hiro in. “It's a long tip you think you'll make it in time?”

“With plenty of time,” Hiro said dangling the Crystal that he borrowed from the Temple. “Teleportation works wonders. I go to the Temple at Mount Lucis daily. And I got this one just for...” Hiro stopped short as Sara descended the stairs that lead up to the loft, wearing a Lilac colored Dress. “...Sara.”

“Well how do I look?” Sara asked giving a twirl around.

“Absolutely lovely,” Orrin said. “Just like your mother did when we were young. The Gods Rest her soul.”

“Yeah,” Hiro said in a daze. “But you will need this.” Hiro put the Pendant around Sara's neck. “Take hold and we'll be there shortly.” Sara took hold of Hiro's arm and grasped firmly, to him. “There will be a slight discomfort as if you are being ripped apart when we teleport but that will pass in a second.”

Just like that they disappeared from the house and outside the gates to the castle. As they towards the gate, music could be heard from the interior courtyard, and laughter all around. Most of the guest were from more than a days travel so they were already here.

“Sir Hiro,” A guard said kneeling before Hiro and Sara. “I extend the Kings gratitude and relay the message for you to go directly to the throne room upon arrival.”

“Thank you,” Hiro said with a smile. “And please do not kneel for me.” Hiro lead the way to the Throne room where the king was sitting on his throne, Extra Chairs had been brought forth and The Lord and Lady of the Southern Fire Mist Mountains sat to his side. “My lord,” Hiro said kneeling and Sara curtsied before the king. “It is an Honor to be a guest to Oriana's wedding.”

“Ah Hiro,” The king said standing and walking over grasping Hiro into a bone crushing hug. “You haven't aged a day. And who is this young lady that accompanies you?”

“My name is Sara your lordship,” Sara said blushing a bit. “I never dreamed I would be in the prescience of a king let alone have one acknowledge me.”

The king leaned over and whispered into Hiro's ear. “Quite a beautiful young lady. Is she your love?”

Hiro blushed a bit at the mention of this before he whispered back. “She is the daughter of Orrin, the Ancestor of the Squire of Jarall. She is a dear friend, though not my Love. And you must be the Lord and Lady of The Southern Fire Mist Mountains, It is a pleasure to meet you.”

“As it is for us,” Lord Hannibal said from his seat. “The Legend of Hiro the Hero has reached far and wide.”

“The Wedding will begin Shortly Sire,” A Court Gard said as he waked in and knelt before the king. I have sent word to the Princesses Chambers.”

“Very well,” The king sighed. “Will you Show Sir Hiro and lady Sara to the seats that have been set for them?”

“Right away sire,” The Guard said. “If you will follow me.” Hiro and Sara followed The Guard out into the courtyard. “You are to be the Guest of Honor, Sir Hiro. It is the Wish of the king and the Princess Oriana both. It is quite an honor. Here we are.”

“Thank you...” Hiro said trying to think of the guards name. He had seen him before, but could not recall his name.

“My name is Uric,” The guard said.

“Thank you Uric,” Hiro said shaking his hand, before sitting down.

The Bards pranced about playing and singing as the quest all gathered. Over the period of an hour the guest congregated and the Bards played, merry tunes. Then suddenly stopped as the king and princess appeared at the doors. The started a new tune the Wedding Celebration Tune as the wedding progression moved forward. A Young Child walked before the king and the Princess, as they came down the Isle. Everyone stood before them. Slowly everyone sat back down as the Line finished before the Altar.

“Lord's, Lady's, and Oh so Brave Knights that have gathered here today,” The Priest said waving his arms in the air. “We are here to witness the Union of Princess Oriana of The lands of Narul and Zohar Son of the the Lord Of the Southern Fire Mist Mountains. This a joyous occasion for the future king of the lands of Narul. Princess Oriana, A Princess of the Lands of Narul it is your duty to lead your people as a Queen. And Zohar, It is your duty to support Oriana in your role as the King. Let he hath objection speak now, for there will be no going back.” The Priest stopped for a second before continuing. “Do you Zohar take Oriana to be your Queen?”

“I Zohar take Princess Oriana as my Queen,” Zohar said with a deep baritone voice, while holding onto Oriana's hands.

“And do you Oriana take Zohar to be your king?” The priest asked Oriana.

“I Oriana take Zohar as my King,” Oriana answered a tear sweeping down her cheek.

The Priest held up two silver rings and handed one to Zohar and one to Oriana “Zohar, Oriana, these rings, are a bonding contract of love and Fidelity to each other. For once placed upon your person, these rings will signify a life long bond between the two of you. Zohar Please repeat 'With this Circlet I take Oriana as my Queen for as long as I live.'”

“With this Circlet I take Oriana as my Queen for long as I live,” Zohar repeated placing the ring upon Oriana's left ring finger.

“Oriana Please repeat, 'With this Circlet I take Zohar as my King for long as I live.'” The priest said.

“With this Circlet I take Zohar as my King for long as I live,” Oriana repeated, as she placed the Ring on Zohar's left ring finger.

“With the Ordained power given to me by the Ancients,” I pronounce the Union of Queen Oriana and King Zohar, On this day, the 12th of Lunaris,” The Priest said. “Long live the Queen and King.”

“Long Live the Queen and King,” The gathered repeated as they walked forward down the Isle.

The Celebration that took place after the celebration was a merry one. Hiro and Sara as the Guest of Honor sat at the head table with the King, Oriana, Zohar, Lord Hannibal, and Lady Ambrosia. A Feast was prepared by the Royal Chef, and the Talk was merry. People came to pay there respects to the New Queen and King. After the feast the tables were moved away and people danced about, in a merry way. Hiro stalked off out of the chamber. Sara noticed and followed him out onto the Battlements.

“Won't they be offended if they notice you have disappeared?” Sara asked as she walked over to where Hiro was standing looking out over the lands.

“When I was last here, I came up here to think,” Hiro muttered, as he looked out onto the lands. “I don't much care for large calibrations of this grandeur. If they want me they know where I have disappeared to. It was three years ago on the eve of the first Festival of Hero's that I had a chance to be come a king. At this very same spot, But I declined. The Human world should be ruled by humans. Not a Hidorian.”

Sara graped hold onto Hiro and stared him in the eyes. “That right there, is why I like you. You are a kind person yet when it comes down to it you are serious in the matters of life. That is why even if I must spend my life alone. As long as I am near you I will be happy.”

“Sara,” Hiro began. He has had this conversation with Sara before, but the way the light reflected in the setting sun feelings he had for her seemed to show themselves. “You do realize that I am over 150 years old, and I will be around longer than you can even fathom right?”

“I Don't care,” Sara said grasping her grip on him tighter. “I wish to spend my life with you, even if you will live for hundreds of years longer than I or the fact that you are ten times my age.” Sara pulled Hiro down towards her and kissed him. “I wish to stay by your side till death parts us, and I will always wait for you in the next world.”

“Hiro!” The King yelled from down in the Courtyard. “I thought you would be up there, come quick, Oriana is looking for you!”

Hiro used the power of the crystal to transport himself, And Sara in tow to the Courtyard, near where the king was standing. “What is this about?”

“She would not tell me,” The King said. “But she wishes to speak to you directly.”

“Well then,” Hiro said clasping his hands together. “Lets see what The Queen Wants of this humble Knight.” Hiro followed the king into the throne room where the new Queen and King were sitting. In there rightful places. “My lord, and Lady.” Hiro said kneeling before the pair. “You wished to see me?”

“Sir Hiro,” Oriana said in a commanding tone. “As the the Queen of Narul I wish to extend to you, a place upon my royal counsel, do you accept?”

“If it is the wish of my lady and her lord,” Hiro said as he stood back up. “Then I graciously accept.”

“Then it is settled,” Oriana said clapping her hands together. “Sir Hiro you are officially appointed to my Royal Counsel.” Oriana then turned to look towards Sara. “And Lady Sara? Please take care of Sir Hiro will you? A few years ago he saved my life and the lands of Narul. Such a great man must be taken care of by a loving person. That is all I wish of you, and probably ever will.”

“I will,” Sara said sweeping into a low Curtsy. “For the length of my life. I will take care of this Brave Knight.”

The king looked over at Hiro with a puzzled look on his face. Hiro shot a look back that said he would explain everything latter. “Your Lady, and Lordship,” Hiro said. “The time is late, and we must be going on our way. May your rule be a peaceful one. Please send a messenger to my home if you are ever in need of my services. With that I bid you a due.”

“Until we meet again,” Zohar said as he stood and walked over to extend his arm in friendship to Hiro. “You are a great Knight in the eyes of my Queen, and I have heard tales of your adventure. I hope that we may one day talk in length.”

“My Lord.” Hiro said embracing Zohar. “I would be honored.” He let go and turned to walk over to where Oriana sat. “And my Lady, It was a pleasure to see you again. And remember, My door is always open to friends. At the edge of the lands where day begins is where you can find me.” Hiro walked back down to where Sara stood and took her hand. “Now if you will excuse us, we must be going, I am sure Sara's father is beginning to get worried. Goodbye for now.”

Hiro and Sara just disappeared into thin air and moments latter were standing in front of Hiro's house. The moon was starting to rise into the sky out from the horizon, the smell of the sea washed over them as hey walked along the path that lead to Sara's Home. A light was still glowing in the Window, as Orrin opened the door.

“Did you two have a good time?” Orrin asked as Sara and Hiro walked into the house hand in hand.

“Yes we did,” Sara said giving Orrin a hug. “It was a beautiful wedding.”

After a cup of tea, Sara went up to her loft and Orrin sat at the table with Hiro discussing matters at hand.

“So, Queen Oriana has appointed you to her Royal Counsel?” Orrin asked with a smile, his face seemed weathered in the light of the fire, and lanterns that lit the room. “That is great news Hiro.”

“Yes,” Hiro said, as the next thing loomed heavy in his heart as he spoke. “But there is one more thing I must ask you. Would you object to my courting of Sara?”

“What?” Orrin said sputtering a bit as he took another sip of tea. “Why would you ask such a thing?”

“Earlier today,” Hiro sighed. “My true feelings came to show themselves when she vowed to stay by my side forever even if we could not be together. Feelings I have been suppressing, for her and my sake. But you know how she is.”

“Aye that I do,” Orrin complied. “Once when has her heart set it is damn near impossible to change. You have my blessing, just make the best of your lives together and if at all possible I would love to have a grandchild before my time on this plain is over. Sara!”

“Yes father what is it?” Sara asked, leaning over the railing of the loft.

“You have my blessing,” Orrin said. “May you two be happy in your lives, and as I told Hiro. I would love to see my first Grandchild before my time on this Plain has come to an end. Just promise to take care of yourself, and make the most of every moment you have together.”

“Lets speak of this more in depth tomorrow,” Hiro cut in. “It is late and I need to get some sleep.”

“Until tomorrow then,” Orrin complied.

“I will hold you to that,” Sara said weeping slightly from her happiness.

“Until tomorrow,” Hiro said walking out the door, and closing it behind himself.
