Now dear friends, I would like to take a moment to explain to you guys how after 2 years of working 2 jobs busting my ass from minimum wage to barely decent 12.70 hourly I ended up making $905.41 in one week.
You see my fellow colleges, unless you have the concentration and dedication to go through it- notwithcounting economical support from family, college is a very uphill challenge where one small mistake can take you back years of progress and sink you into a 60k dollar debt like a certain family member of mine has. This is just one part, not without forgetting the political minefields in modern colleges where certain opinions get you people to make your life miserable in creative ways. Rather than boring you with what most of you already know, here are some ideas-
Electrician and or A/C Specialist, can make up to 15 hourly working for a company or $150+ per home working independently. 1 year course.
Plumber, same but instead of getting shocked you get shat. 1 year course.
Forklift operator, costs less than 200 dollars to be one, 3 day training, the rest is taught on the job. Hourly wage 12-15, top wage 22 dollars an hour. <1 week course
Welding, 40k+ a year. If you're feeling adventurous, Underwater welders make 75k a year. 1 - 1and a half year course.
Trucker Class A or B, 3 week course, costs 1-5k to get license. Average year salary is 40k-80k depending on experience. Huge variety of jobs just because you become authorized to drive big vehicles.
*Honorable Mention
Line Cook 7.50-17.00 hourly. Depends on location, your skill level, and how much effort you put into your job. My first kitchen paid me 7.50 an hour, my last kitchen paid me 12.75 Some people reached 17.00
Coming to America I learned a very simple lesson summed up by a dishpit guy "The Devil lives in America, but it's still the land of opportunities".
Gentlemen, I am an immigrant to America but yet through toil and opportunity I am now truck driving, don't follow your dreams sometimes, follow opportunities. My first job was as a line cook for 7.50, my 2nd job was 10.00, my 3rd and 4th job was 12.00, and my last kitchen job ended me moving from 12 to 12.75 for performance and skill. Still, even after working 70 hour weeks I found myself still poor and still bummed. I ended up losing s lot of that money in bad economic decisions i.e. 1st car+insurance, doge, 2nd car, before finally realizing that kitchens wasn't where I wanted to be as I aged, with nasty attitude bitch servers and backstabbing cooks. Finally I decided either I became a truck driver or died trying in some major catstrophe. Hence after 8 weeks of weekend school, 6 weeks of fulltime company training, and 2 weeks of finally driving alone, I became a truck driver.
I implore you to consider Blue Collar jobs, for these will always be in demand, unlike liberal arts or some kind of fake marketing, someone will always need a couple of hands with skill to fix things. Until next time, stay savvy, stay working, resist propaganda and bad avice, and be always aware of (((them))) and learn to see through their deceit. Good luck in your quest for money and try harder!!!
