After a few minutes of trying to hail down a cab, and Actually getting back to the marina, all of us were all over each other, barely able to keep our hands off of each other, Her hand went up my shirt as we walked up onto the main deck. By the time we got to the lower deck my shirt had been un buttoned. Jane and me barely made it into my cabin before our clothes started flying. I was able to really appreciate her body in the dim light of the room, a tan and toned shapely figure, her breast I would estimate to be a C cup.
I placed my hand onto one of them, it had been so long since I have felt the touch of a woman’s body against mine, and that is when it hit me. Am I really doing this? Am I really using a complete stranger to fulfill my own carnal desires. This is not me, this is something I have never done, and I can’t bring myself to do it.
“Wait a second,” I said as I pulled my head back. “I’m sorry, I can’t go through with this.”
“What, why?” Jane pleaded, as she looked at me.
“It’s not you it’s me,” I said as I turned and put sat up into a sitting position on the side of the bed. “I just can’t do this. It’s a long story, I was fucked pretty badly in my past. I can’t do this, I cannot take advantage of someone for my own gains even if they are totally cool with it.”
“She must have been someone special,” Jane said as she sat down beside me. “I only really went along with it because my friends thought the other two were cute.”
“Same here,” I said as I sighed. “One of them over heard something I was talking about to the captain last night and they thought it would be good to get me laid. But I can’t do it, on a lie.”
“Your name is not Leon is it?” Jane asked.
“That obvious?” I laughed. “Well that’s a partial truth Leon is my middle name. My real name is Jake.”
Jane kissed me on my cheek and then wrapped an arm around my shoulders. Pulling me down to the bed with her. “I knew you were lying when you first said it. But I didn’t care.”
I couldn’t believe it, I’m sitting here next to this gorgeous girl who would fuck me in an instant but I cannot find it in me to do so. “Then why did you play along?”
“I don’t know,” Jane sighed. “Maybe it was because of the alcohol, maybe because I think you’re cute, maybe because of how lonely I am. I don’t know really. But I do know you are a good person.”
“And how is that?” I asked. “I lied to you, got you drunk with the idea that put to its full extent is of having sex...”
“I Knew you were lying, I got drunk because I like to drink especially when I’m not buying, and you stopped yourself from carrying that out,” Jane retorted cutting me off, and kissing me once again. “It takes a real man to be honest like that. For all I know you would have fucked me and sent me packing for all I know. Never to see each other again. Never to know what could have been if we just did it without saying anything. Just a memory of that one night in the Virgin Islands.”
“That’s why I can’t do it,” I sighed. “I feel like I need to know the person before I †˜know’; them. If you know what I mean. I did that once, they took my heart and ripped it out, cut it into pieces and set it on fire.”
I laid there in silence just watching her trying to think of something to say. It’s hard to respond to something like that. When you have not experienced it yourself. “What a heartless bitch.” That’s all she could say.
I didn’t respond as I put my hand to her head and brushed it through her hair. I didn’t want to ruin this moment. So I decided to let it linger for a second, as the noise of moaning could be heard from an adjacent room. A smile ran across my face. “Seems like your friends waste no time.”
“That they don’t,” Jane laughed, as I got up and walked to the closet.
“You can stay here if you want,” I said as I slipped into a pair of pajama pants. The top was still on the hanger, as I tossed it to her. “Here, you can sleep in this.”
“I… I couldn’t,” Jane fumbled trying to say something.
“Look I may be uncomfortable with having sex with a woman I barely know,” I said cutting her off. “But I know well damn good enough that having a person there beside you is more comforting than sleeping alone, and seeing as your friends may be here all night, I insist. I swear that nothing will come of this. Just try to get some sleep.”
I crawled into the bed and turned onto my side as I felt her slip in beside me the warmth from her body comforted me, in ways that I have not felt in years, as I drifted away into a drunken stupor. Something so minute and un important can always have a great meaning to a person. This is just one of those times.
When I awoke the next morning, the clock was reading a local time of 10am my head pounding, I turned over and there she was still sleeping there. I tried to recall what happened last night, it slowly started coming back to me in a haze, Joe and Mason, trying to get me laid, all of us coming back here, me stopping myself from doing something I would end up regretting. But one key vital component still kept itself from me what was her name? I remember is stared with a J but then it was a blank, all these names popped into my head until I finally remembered, she said her name was Jane.
I slid out of the bed, and in my hung-over state landed right on the floor. When I finally stumbled up, I was able to open the door to my room finding a note on the door.
†˜Tell Jane we went on back to the hotel, and thank you guys for last night.
-Shanna.’
I stumbled into the galley to find Pierre sitting on a bar stool writing into a journal. “Pierre do you know what a prairie oyster is?”
“A whole raw egg yolk, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, and pepper,” Pierre said almost instantaneously. “I’m guessing you want one for your… um hangover. I’ve fixed 4 of them already. But the true cure is a nice breakfast. Go wake up your… err… friend, and I’ll fix you two a wonderful meal.”
“Hey wake up,” I said as I gently nudged Jane trying to wake her up.
“Go away, it’s too early,” Jane said as she swatted at me. “Shanna let me sleep five more minutes.”
“I’m not Shanna,” I said with a laugh. “And it’s 10am. If you want to stay here then that’s fine. But I warn you, you may be trapped before long.”
It took a few seconds for it to sink in, what I said before she sat up rubbing her temples. “I’m sorry, I get confused in the mornings. Um, I’m sorry I think you said your name was Jake last night?”
“Uh yeah,” I said rubbing my head. “Uh look your friends already left, and well, I know it sounds kind of weird but would you like some breakfast and then maybe just hang out with me for the day.”
“Food seems like a good idea right now,” Jane said. “I haven’t eaten since I had lunch yesterday. As for spending the day hanging around with you, sure. Your cute, and you’re a nice guy, I would love to.”
I waited outside the door of the cabin as she slipped into her clothes from the night before, and came out. When we got back up to the main living area, Pierre had already fixed up most of the breakfast and was sitting it on the table.
“Bonjour mon dame,” Pierre said as he poured two glasses of orange juice.
“Thank you Pierre,” I said as I pulled out a chair for Jane. “Please sit.”
“Thank you,” Jane said as I held her chair for her. “You have a French chef, and two mercenaries that are bodyguards, what else?”
“Actually they are my deck hands,” I said taking a sip from my glass. “They function as bodyguards as well. The other two are Tim who is my captain and pilot of the boat, and then there is Hans who functions as my Stewart and first mate.”
“Quite impressive,” Jane said as she took a bit into a crusaunt.
“ Look I’m not trying to do anything to impress you or anything, this is just me,” I said a bit agitated. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean it that way. I’m not some uppity rich ass kid, my fortune is just dumb luck. I don’t care about the money, I was raised in a family that loves to travel, and in a melting pot of a family. It’s all possible that I’ll lose every cent of my fortune in doing what I’m doing.”
“I don’t care either,” Jane said. “I’m just saying that this is all quite impressive. I was born in Maine but raised in Florida, I was raised around boats. This is one impressive vessel and a crew to match.”
“Sorry,” I said as I took a crusaunt and buttered it. “I’m just straight forward and blunt, sometimes too much so for my own good. But anyways what do you do for a living?”
“I am the head of the front end section of a large resort in the pan handle of Florida,” Jane said as Pierre brought the food out. “Hospitality management if you will.”
“Must be a stressful job,” I mused, as I grabbed my fork. “Dealing with people on a regular basis people that don’t want to listen or more like choose not to listen.”
“It can be,” Jane sighed as she started digging into her breakfast. “But then getting to spend time in a place like this on your vacation can be fun, and makes it all worthwhile. What about you?”
“I’ve an Associates of Arts degree in Graphic Design,” I began. “I’ve set myself to five years on the high seas before I settle down.”
“And where would that might be?” Jane said pressing for information.
“My home lands,” I replied. “The land of the rising sun, I was born in Japan. But I was raised in Kentucky.”
“So you a Japanese boy raised in the states how quaint,” Jane said with a tone that made me believe that she was completely interested in me.
“Not quite,” I corrected. “I’m half Japanese. My mother is a full blooded Japanese woman, my father the American is a mix of English, French, German, and Russian. The long story short, my dad went to Tokyo University when he went to college, met my mother, her family had a big hoo haw about it, calling him Gaijin and the likes threatening to disinherit my mother if she married him.”
“Sounds rough,” Jane said as I paused for a second. “Please go on.”
“I don’t know the details but my father somehow saved my grandfather’s life,” I explained. “They never would tell me what happened but after that, he basically gave in and gave them his blessing. Two months later they were married, and then about a year later I came along. My dad took a job in the states, so everyone moved back to his home state, and well, every summer we would travel to Japan. I just kind of fell in love with the country, but I decided to finish my education in the states, when I graduated from high school.”
“So you are just fresh out of college, fluent in Japanese and English, rich, single and have no real plan on what you are going to do in life?” Jane asked when I finished.
“Basically,” was all I could say as I started eating. “You better eat or your food will get cold.”
“It’s unbelievable,” Jane said astonished. “If I had declined you pass at the bar last night. I would have never met such an amazing person like you.”
I didn’t say anything because I had a mouth full of bacon, but I gave her a smile and a curt nod that I hope showed her how grateful I was for that complement. After breakfast was finished, I went and got changed into a pair of black Boarder shorts, and a t-shirt, before heading with her back to her hotel so she could get something better for the day time than what she was wearing last night.
