Paradise Found
This is where I’m suppose be.
I wake up in my room, greeted by the sunlight that was barely even out.
“Uhhh!” I moaned out. I got off my bed, looked around for my cell phone. Scattered paper, unused clothes covered the floor. “Ugh. I should clean my room more.” I looked all over the room, but couldn’t find it. I know for a fact that when I got home I placed it somewhere in my room. “Unless…!” Thinking about it gave me a shocking feeling. So in a panic I ran down the stairs, only to bump in to someone.
“Awoo!”
“Sorry!” I got up to find out that I bumped into Rei.
“Hey what’s the rush, Kei-kun?”
“I’m looking for something.”
“Let me guess. Is it your cell phone?”
“Yeah. How did you--”
“Sei-chan has it. Why? I really don’t know. Oh, she in the backyard. That’s where I saw her.”
For a moment I just stand with a blank stare. Coming back to senses. I thanked Rei.
“Don’t worry about it. After all you’re going to live back here with us. Right? The least I can do is be nice to you.” She said with a smile, and went on her way.
Recalling yesterdays events I just arrived here in Japan. To be more precise somewhere in Hokkaido. After finishing college I was sent here to get more education. My step parents said that I need the education to further my “being” . I’m 19 years old dammit! I don’t need “their” kind of help. So instead I contacted a old friend to let me live with them while I was here. That friend was the head of the house, her name was Kanami. She was kind enough to let me stay in her house, to escape my plain life. I’d know her ever since I was small. Kind-hearted, sweet, gentle, she is the embodied of “kindness” to no end.
I was on my way to the backyard when I notice a door to a room was open. I heard a melody being sung. Attracted to the voice I entered the room. The person who was singing was no other than Kenosha.
“Hmm? What brings you to my room Kei-san?” She asked.
I hesitated for a moment.
“Oh just looking for my cell phone.”
She looked at me with her eyes, as if she was trying to find the truth in my heart or something. She then smiled.
“Really? Or did you came here for something else?” She said with a seductive look.
“Kenosha-chan!? What are you saying?!”
She laugh at my panic response.
“I’m just joking Kei-san. Relax. Your cell should be with Sei-chan.”
“Ugh. Well see yeah.” I said with a dumbfound look and left the room.
That Kenosha-chan you can never tell if she’s serious or staid. But she not that bad. She what I called the “peacemaker“. Back when we were little I would get into fights. Just as thing could get worse Kenosha-chan would step up and stop the fight. She also is one hell of a good singer.
I continued down the hall when I notice the smell of food. I took a detour to the kitchen to find Ren-chan making breakfast.
“Good morning Ren-chan.”
She got a little jumpy, and looked back at me with a relieved expression.
“Oh Kei-san. Don’t startle me like that.” She said with a startled voice.
“Your the same Ren-chan as before. Easily startled.”
Her face got red.
“Sh-Shut it Kei-san!” She yelled.
“Whoa! Sorry Ren-chan. I never seen you in awhile so…” I was at a lost of words to say.
She let out a sigh.
“What will I ever do with you Kei-kun?” She smile.
“Well you can let me have a bite of that food your cooking.”
“How about when I call everyone. Then you can have a bite.”
“Okay then.” With that I left the kitchen and headed to the backyard. Ren-chan is the best cook in this house. Everyone might die if she didn’t cook. When we were kids she was the “more likely to cry” if she fell down or something. She was the kindest so seeing her getting mad like that was a first for me.
Heading back down the hall I finally got out to the backyard. The wide open space, the rows of trees and flowers lay all over. Its something out of a fantasy book and in the middle stand a tall sakura tree. At the bottom, Sei-chan sitting there was playing with my phone.
“Hey Sei-chan!” I yelled.
She looked up and focus her eyes for awhile. She suddenly yelled,
“Kei-chan!! You found me!”
“Of course I found you. Now hand me my cell.”
She looked at me with a mean-glaring look. I said in my head that she wasn’t going to give my cell back that easily. I let out a sigh. I’m too tired to argue with her, besides it morning.
“Okay Sei-chan what do you want?” I ask.
She looks to the ground in a somewhat sad way. Like when a kid breaks something and doesn’t want to get into trouble kind of look.
“Well? Is something wrong?” I asked.
“Yeah. There’s something I want.” She said calmly.
I’d know Sei-chan since we were kids and I have never seen her so calm before. So I continued.
“So? What is it that you want?” I asked.
She started to slowly kick the ground. Her body looked very tense and stiff like.
“What I want…” she said and stood there.
“Yes?”
Suddenly I saw drops of tears.
“Sei-chan! What wrong?! What’s the matter?!” I said in a panic thinking that I cause her to cry.
“I’m just crying cause your back home Onii-chan.” She said crying.
“Sei-chan…” That’s all I could say at that moment while she stood there and cried.
“Ever since you left our home everything wasn’t the way it suppose to be. Everyone lost what kept everyone energize and happy.” She said trying to control her tears.
“But you knew that I was going to collage, Sei-chan. You could†˜ve called me.”
“But when you left us everything changed. Our life felt like someone died in our family. Your room was empty for 5 years! 5 long years!!” She yelled.
Realizing that I cause misery for more then one person I hugged Sei.
“Don’t worry Sei-chan. I going to stay here. Now and… forever.”
Her once stiff body now relaxed in my arms. She planted her face in my chest, wrapped her arms around me.
“Thanks Onii-chan.”
“No problem Sei-chan.”
She looked at me with tears in her face, and smiled.
“Now I can do what I use to do when you lived with us back then.”
“And that would be?” I ask in confusion.
“Sneak into your room and sleep with you.” She said proudly.
“But aren’t you a little too old to do those things Sei-chan?”
She wiped her tears and with a proud smile she said,
“Who cares?! I will be always Sei-chan! Your one and only Nee-chan! No matter what!”
With that she gave me the cell and walk to the entrance of the house.
“Come on Onii-chan, breakfast should be done.” And went running inside.
As true as she said Ren-chan called saying breakfast was ready. I looked to the morning sky, the sun coming out and the stars still out. I said to myself, “This is where I’m suppose be.” and went in to eat.
Well this is my latest writing. Hopefully this story is one I'll continue to write about more.
About the chars, all there is about them is their first name and how they are connected to the main char: Kei. Later on I'll detail the chars more so stay tune for that.
Anyways tell me what you think about this.
