Alex woke slowly from his dreams; he’s had a blank dream neither good nor bad. He gets out of bed slowly; rubbing his eyes and walks into the bathroom. He looks into the mirror to look at his features. Completely white hair, grayish-blue sea eyes with a hint of blood red, a soft almost buttoned nose, and his hair swept to the side constantly because it kept covering his eyes. He sighed as he unscrewed the toothpaste cap and began to brush his teeth. He slowly spits out the minty freshness inside his mouth and gargle water until the soap like foam is purged from his mouth. He puts on his black jeans with his purple T-shirt and grabs his backpack and heads to school as he walks out his front door and locks it. He knew the day would drag on as always but maybe just maybe he thought that today might be different.
Alex walks slowly to his bus stop knowing that if he sped up he’d have to wait 10 more minutes for the bus to come. He kept walking until he hears car tires skidding to a halt and looks around to see a motorcycle just about to hit him in his left side. Time somewhat slowed down for poor Alex as he stood there practically paralyzed by fear and then the motorcycle hits him the side causing to fall over clutching his side in pain.
“Ahhhh,” groaned continuously as he was rolling around in pain.
“DUDE YOU OK!?!?!?!” the kid on the bike managed to break free his stupor of having just hit poor Alex. What Alex didn’t realize was that the boy was smirking and obviously thinking Mission Accomplished.
“I’m going to f---ing kill you!” swore Alex as he lay there in agony each breathe making the excruciating pain worse. Tears were beginning to form Alex’s eyes now unable to hold them back.
“Dude I’m sorry I didn’t see you there,” said the boy practically on his knee apologizing over and over again but that same smirk betrayed his actions. Alex’s silent tears were flowing out now as he slowly began to lose consciousness, the darkness slowly welcoming him into a deep slumber.

Alex woke slowly with his mind in very powerful and extreme haze. Every limb was sore, every moment he moved he felt numbness, and he couldn’t even think straight. He thought maybe getting hit was just a dream. Yeah a dream that’s what it was he thought, but then he began to realize that he was in the hospital and he begins to swear profusely and repeatedly under his breath until he realizes the futility of it. Everything was so white to Alex and he felt sleepy again so he welcomed the sleep once again.
Alex’s dream is strange to him; swirling dark ashes, distorted human beings, animals with human characteristics, he realizes a copy of him is continually laughing at the misfortune of everything, and another copy crying rivers of tears for all the pain the creatures must feel. A normal looking dog walks up to Alex and begins speaking to him.
“Once you realize who you are, what you are, and what your existence represents. Three paths will be open to you, one filled with solitude, one filled with pain, and one filled with control.”
“What?” Alex looks awestruck because he’s used to the notion that dogs cannot talk.
“I tell you now once you know the truth the path you are currently walking will be shattered and only three paths will be left to you,” the dog says sagely.
“What truth? What path? What are you talking about!?” Alex’s voice began to rise.
“You’ll come to understand soon enough Eiji,” said the dog.
“That’s not my name…” said Alex.
“Interesting… alas I must say farewell to you Alex. You’re going to wake up and think of this as nothing but a dream, but know this once you know three paths will be left to you. It’s up to you to decide what those paths will entail for you.” With those words said Alex slowly woke from his sleep and slowly tries to get up from his lying position. A quick jolt of pain courses through him and he collapses onto the bed. The doctor assigned to him walks in and introduces himself
“Hey, my name is Dr. Montgomery and I’m the doctor on call at the moment. You look pretty banged up” he looks at the chart “Alex,” said the Doctor.
“I guess?” said Alex groggily.
“Alright Alex I need to ask you some questions. You can choose not to answer them. You ok with that?” Dr Montgomery asked almost eagerly.
“Uh, I guess,” says Alex. What Alex didn’t realize was that behind was a nurse sitting on a crimson chair taking notes as Alex and Montgomery spoke. Montgomery pulls out his pencil and asks as thoughtfully as possible
“Do you know what a vampire is?”
“Uh, those mythical creatures that feed on people’s blood?” Alex begins to laugh but holds it in. He didn’t know what this had to do with his medical problem as of late. The doctor nods slowly and asks another equally pointless question
“Do you know what a werewolf is?”
“OK! What does this have to do with my being in the hospital?!” Alex’s voice was barely under a yell.
“I was just messing with ya kid. Here’s the real question buddy. Why did you step in front of that motorcycle?” Montgomery said with all traces of humor leaving his face.
“I didn’t, by the time I realized that I was about to get hit it was too late,” Alex whispers softly. “Can I have some water and some food? I’m kind of hungry here.”
“Sure sure,” he motions for the nurse. “Get Alex some food and water.”
“Right,” the nurse yawns slowly and walks out the door.

“This is some good food!” Alex says happily, each bite into it was like a mini orgasm for him.
“I knew you’d like it Alex,” said the doctor with his eyes smiling. What Alex is eating is orange flavored chicken and some Chow Mein on the side. What Alex doesn’t realize is that the food is laced with sleeping pills.
“I’m so sleepy…” Alex dozes off into lalaland.
“Was that a wise choice James?” said the nurse as she confirms that Alex is asleep.
“I may not be able to tell him what he is, myself through the will of the council but I can certainly push him to find out on his own,” said Dr. Montgomery with weary eyes. “He deserves to know the truth.
“Just know if you directly tell him you know what will happen don’t you?”
“Yes,” his face is filled with conflicting emotions. He knew the council would never forgive a betrayer.

“It seems you’re back young Alex,” the dog was sitting upright drinking tea. “Your soul demands the truth if you come here not once but twice.”
“What are you talking about?” Alex curiously asks.
“Have you ever looked at the stars Alex? They’re so beautiful aren’t they?” the dog looks at Alex.
“Uh… sure I guess?” Alex is yet again at a loss for words.
“What you are is too much of a broad question. Let’s begin with what you represent.” The scenery began to change from the barren landscape to a forest on a mountain which is on an island. “This represents your state of mind young Alex. It is a calm forest on top of a mountain which resides in the protection of an island.” The scenery began to change again to the islands water dries up, the forest burned, and the mountain crumbling quickly. “This represents you when you get angry, sad, depressed, and even feel fear.”
“Ok…”
“Let me continue young Alex. It’s true that these landscapes represent your emotions, but they couldn’t farther from the truth. The calm forest is actually at war with different †˜demons’ if you will. Your very existence is at war with itself,” the dog appears to be drinking green tea now.
“But what-?”
“Let me show you your life force Alex.” The scenery changes yet again to that of a blackness with one small faint heart beating softly with huge amounts of white light pouring into it. “You’re soul is fragile Alex, it’s been like this ever since you were five. You’re life force is weak and must constantly feed on the life force of others.”
“What are you saying? That I’m some sort of parasite, some kind of vampire?!?” Alex’s eyes start to water.
“No Alex we don’t use that word. To us it is the ultimate swear word, worse than the most racist swear words in all of existence. What you are is a spiritual leech and the light you see is the energy or life force of others around you.”
“No… No! NO!!!!! This can’t be!!!!!!!” Alex is starting to break down mentally and the landscape around him starts to blur, the flow of energy to the faint heart stops and dissipates. “I will not take away a person’s energy that will one day need.”
“You don’t understand Alex. You will die if you don’t.”
“So. Be. It,” with that said Alex wakes up
