This is a collection of newly written works, sans the first poem. I'll update this when I can, or whenever I have a new piece that I deem quality.
Critiscm is always welcome!
Within a shattered portrait.
My broken dreams wither away.
Tormented by fake shadows.
And memories of agony.
My restless soul ages, yet never dies
Seeking truth, love, veangance.
I wander for eternity.
I hear the cries of men, of women, of children!
But I saw only uniforms, countless uniforms.
One by one, they all fell down.
They all fell down...
This was a piece I've had sitting on my computer for a while, so I've decided to share. The main inspiration for this poem was my Grandfather's explanation of how he coped with WWII. In short, during the war and while he was fighting, he only saw his enemies uniforms. He didn't think of them as other humans, just simply uniforms that sagged to the ground once you put a few bullets into them.
My Grandfather worked behing enemy lines, spotting for artillery strikes and and plane bombings. When he passed away, he gave me his journal, which contained a lot of coordinates, and a lot of personal messages relating to his health and mental status. It seems he suffered from PTSD for most of his, and having ASD I can sympathize with him, but can still only imagine the torment he must have lived through every day of his life, both during the war and after it. It's a very emotional piece to me, as much of my families past has been only war.
Oh, and there is no structure to this, interperet the way it's written however you want.
Yes I realize there is only one poem. I'll have to post more tomorrow when I have access to my other hard-drive.
