That sounds like a very interesting back-story, I would love to read your submission if you went go with it. The deadline isn't here yet. I once wrote 72 pages (double-spaced) in three days, no joke. I'm certain you can do it if you make a thunderous attempt.

Hello, everybody. I didn't plan to miss out on this annual event and I'm glad I have finally made the time to finish my submission this year.
I happily submit my entry for this year's contest: "The pieces I lost for my puzzle"
I wish the best of luck to all the entrants, myself included, hope you had a great Christmas and wish you the best New Year.
As in every year, I'll try my best to read all of the entries and leave my comment in each one. I hope you guys will do the same. That's all for me to say in this reply - I have included a note at the end of my entry post if you are interested in reading my nonsensical monologue (honestly it seems as long as another entry of the contest, haha).

We have accepted works in the past permitting that they have been posted before the due date, which is the case with your work. Merely post the link to your work like you should and it will be fine. I did notice this and added it to the list regardless. We all let things slip our mind, I'm not going to forbid you entry just because you forgot the fine print.
Linking it here is for the benefit of keeping all the year's submissions within an easy-to-locate place, otherwise the submissions would be buried and scattered. It's also for the entrants to officially say that they are finished with their work.
That said, I hope you enjoyed writing your submission and that you read the entries of your fellows as well. We have an unspoken courtesy here that if you are willing to comment on another's work, they will do the same for you. It's something a lot of us love about the contest.
