Sometimes it seems like ero-games are too focused on having some great story or long gameplay involving all these different regions to make a "good game". This game is proof that this doesn't have to be the case. Gameplay was great, story was amazing, and h-scenes are on point. I beat the game but was invested enough in the story and gameplay that I wanted to play another run, not because I didn't get my desired end-result, but because I enjoyed the playthrough.
There are only two points that hold this from being a 5*: the dice system and no control over the in-battle scenes. The 2nd point is more of a gripe, it actually makes sense that you cannot control how events play out in battle because, well, the MC is not in control of the situation. However this means it's hard for you to see the kind of scenes you want to in battle. So for that aspect of the game, I was left a little disappointed.
Before I go to my 2nd point, if you have little interest in the actual game and only interested in the scenes, there's nothing left for you.
The dice system actually wasn't bad, I enjoyed it, and it added a layer to the combat in the game that I actually enjoyed. The thing I did not enjoy about it is that it is not balanced very well at all. There are skill upgrades available for the dice system but all of the mare useless because of the limited amount of points you have to organize the skills. Higher level skills require more points which means you have less skills overall on your dice, potentially meaning wasted turns. The payoff? Mediocre damage. I saw something like 1.2x or 1.5x damage compared to lower tier, but the inconsistency would never make that trade-off worth it. I would have liked to see some kind of proficiency or way of increasing the value of the points in the dice system so I wasn't trapped into certain builds to go through the game.
That's my gripe with the dice system. A fine system, but could be balanced better. However it still was fun enough that I spent a whole day playing the game and I'll probably play another round of it just for fun.
