The royal church receives a request to aid the people of the city, so they send their holy knight, Sonia, to solve the case. Men have obtained a dangerous item capable of hypnotizing women to have depraved sex out in the open city streets!
It doesn't take long for Sonia to lose her knights to the spell. Left penniless and alone in the dangerous city, Sonia wonders how she'll save everyone now!?
There are about three dozen scenes, and they're all hot. In many, Sonia doesn't even realize what's actually happening thanks to the hypnosis, and her gradual corruption allows for more extreme scenes as the game goes on. (One thing I'll note, that could be a potential turnoff that isn't tagged, is that there are a number of scenes where Sonia wets herself or pees on the ground.)
The game's story is linear, broken only by bad ends that come from losing fights or making a couple poor decisions. I wouldn't normally complain about that, but I feel like there's some wasted potential here. I really liked the idea of Sonia being given various commands, alterations to her perceptions and feelings, and triggers throughout the game. However, those triggers were only relevant to the scenes/storylines they were introduced in. This may be a bit greedy on my part, but I was hoping for different choices to lead to different triggers and such, which would in turn provide new weaknesses to watch out for while playing as Sonia.
All that said, I really enjoyed this game. There's room for a direct sequel, and regardless I'd be excited to see what this developer does with some of these ideas in future games. While I was left wanting a little bit more, this game lives up to its title of "Hypnotic City" if you're looking for a game that really leans into hypnosis.
