i normally would take extreme offense to the elimination of braid and glasses during the sex. But its soo good that i will let it slide.......but i want a sequel.
This chapter is a serious psychological study
of a spoiled, upper-class girl who is suffering
from ennui, which is a state of profound,
unbearable boredom.
From the Wiki:
"During the fin de siècle, the French term for the end
of the 19th century in the West, some of the cultural
hallmarks included ennui, cynicism [and] pessimism... "
(Note that Sayaka is also extremely cynical
and pessimistic, as well as bored.)
During the fin de siècle, bored members of the upper-
class often tried to relieve themselves by indulging in
weird sex, weird drugs, and weird religions.
Although Sayaka tries to rationalize her actions,
she's plunging headlong down a very dark path,
in a desperate search for excitement.
If she were an artist, writer, or musician, she could relieve
her boredom in creative ways---instead of self-destructive
ways---but her life has no purpose or meaning.
*sees the glasses, the braids and the shady guy* It†˜s Metamorphosis all over again!!! *starts to cry and sits in his shower, hugging his legs. Didn’t even bother to finish reading the story*
