I had to re read it to check. The ring only shows up on the last page AND page 3 panel 5. After she hears him say " I should have made a move" she covers her left hand with her right.
My bad, it is also on page 6 pane 3 under a speech bubble as she get out if the shower. That is why it reappears at the end.
Also, she only showed her hand when she was wearing once before she took her shower. All other times, it was hidden under tables, behind the ladies she was talking to, or in her coat pockets. Crafty femme-fatale is crafty...
As far as cheating chapters go, this one is remarkably mature, in that
the two MCs behave like genuine adults. They meet, have a hot fling,
and start an affair---all with no self-serving excuses, or disingenuous
expressions of guilt. As far as Kuma and Hazaki are concerned, their
relationship needs no apology or explanation.
EDIT: There's no giddy, adolescent romance involved, either, and
the MCs never make any corny professions of love for each other.
They're in it for the sex, and they have no sentimental illusions
about it.
Oof… I really thought this was sweet how she was asking if he was fine starting then as opposed to back then…and I had favorited it, then I reread and saw the maiden name thing… so she’s asking if he’s okay keeping up an affair.
My heart hurts now
I seriously would like to know the backdrop on Hazaki up to this point. Is she a whore, or is she in a bad relationship, or what? Her misgivings about regret makes me want to believe the latter.
The closer I look at Hazaki, the more enigmatic she becomes. It's not clear why
she's cheating, and, when you get right down to it, it's not entirely clear how she
feels about Kuma, either. They went to school together and she's probably fond
of him, but she doesn't seem to be interested in love or romance---only in good
sex, which would be consistent with her cool, pragmatic nature.
As I commented elsewhere, Hazaki is an interesting character. We have
no idea why she's cheating, but she approaches Kuma with such cool
confidence that I suspect this is not the first time she has cheated.
Maybe she's in a bad marriage. Maybe she's bored. Maybe she simply
enjoys the thrill of adultery for its own sake. For now, her motivation
must remain a mystery.
As for regrets, I have the nagging feeling that, if she had married Kuma,
she would now be cheating on him.
Well, I root for her confident approach coming from familiarity of him and drinking some liquid relaxation. I do hope what she said to him sinks in that hanging out like old times to where now he gets a booty call will probably be few and far in between.
Hazaki is a fascinating character, because she's drawn with tsurime eyes, which
slant upward at the outer corners. They make her look rather sly, which is appro-
priate for a married woman who coolly initiates a fling with another man.
Tsurime eyes can symbolize pride, willfulness, arrogance, maturity, assertiveness,
or experience. They're often associated with tsundere characters. If tsurime eyes
are combined with cat's-eye pupils, that usually indicates a mysterious villainess.
In Hazaki's case, her eyes reflect her maturity and experience. She's cool, confident,
and rather calculating (as indicated by the way she initially hides her married status
from Kuma). The fling may have been a test. If Kuma had turned out to be a dud in
bed, Hazaki may not have offered him an affair. I suspect this is not her first rodeo
when it comes to adultery.
It's a remarkably realistic chapter (and very mature).
Unless I have mis-read the ending, Hazaki is coolly
asking Kuma if he's willing to accept an affair with a
married woman.
That's more or less how I interpreted it too. She says if we were more honest in the past, then things could have been different, but would you at least settle for starting an affair with me.
"Yo Dawg, That's Some Deep Shit!" (at least IMHO) ... even though it's been years since school days, once in a while some flames just don't get extinguished.
My bad, it is also on page 6 pane 3 under a speech bubble as she get out if the shower. That is why it reappears at the end.

Yanase Kotatsu played fair with the reader
(much like re-watching "The Sixth Sense").
