"Sexy" is right. Thanatos eventually became associated
with Eros, which is reflected in the French term la petite
mort ("the little death")---a reference to the temporary
loss of consciousness that follows a truly mind-blowing
orgasm.
I feel weird, since I immediately thought of Calli when I saw the scythe... I still want a sequel, though. Preferably with the kid finding out about his/her lineage, and fucking a god themselves.
The ending reminds me of a strange horror film, Spring (2014).
It's a sensitive Lovecraftian love story (if you can imagine such
a thing), which involves an ageless woman who allows herself
to become pregnant every 20 years, so her body can absorb
the embryo---thus maintaining her immortality through a kind
of prenatal human sacrifice, as it were. Highly recommended. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring
Even gods have to check on their menstrual cycle or else they end up getting knocked up, always check on contraceptives first! Ironic in that it's the god of death tho
The chapter is fairly lighthearted, but the ending definitely
carries a hint of horror. See my comment about the movie Spring (2014), elsewhere on this page.
Since our lovely Death Goddess is determined to take a life,
we shouldn't be surprised when the ending turns out to be
rather dark and "heavy."
Film recommendations, too?! I sincerely owe you a solid drink or some tasty foods someday, Ecchi-senpai. This film looks great. Totes missed my radar. The brief synopsis I read makes me eager to watch it with some fellow film nerds in my circle.
Even though it's not the central topic, this new and cute offering from Regudeku-sensei deserves a theme song, even an unofficial one (all together now):
"Every Sperm Is Sacred, Every Sperm Is Great.
If a Sperm is Wasted, God Gets Quite Irate.
Let the Heathen Spill Theirs, On the Dusty Ground.
God Shall Make Them Pay, for each Sperm that Can't Be Found."
The child of a human and a death god, it practically writes itself.
