This looks to be the best story Mogg has written and he's written many good ones over the years. What sets this apart is how well the characterization explains why those two entered the relationship they have. The girl is largely ignorant and easily swayed and enters prostitution for weak reasons. The guy is watching his life collapse around him and is looking for one of the few people who doesn't know his shame and probably never will while also being controllable so he can finally gain control something in his life. What you get is an odd relationship where it works because there is poor communication and understanding between the two. It's to the point where it looks like the girl is more of a mistress now than a prostitute.
