Good grief! I know Mojarin is known for their especially juicy ladies; but Chie is as ripe as a peach!

To make an otherwise long story short, these two are (IMHO) nowhere near over each other, even if they broke up some time ago. And MC is the dominant one in this instance. So then, even as she vehemently denies it, unless she (figuratively) "grows some balls", FMC will probably keep on catering to his whims and fancies.
