So since there seems to be some confusion, the title is likely not a reference to Shindo L's Metamorphosis. The original Japanese title for this is メタオナフォーゼ, which is a pun on "metamorphose" (basically the same as metamorphosis) and the Japanese word for masturbation. The original title for Shindo L's book is "変身", which can mean several things, but I believe Shindo L translated it to Metamorphosis for us.
