I actually thought that she would make him fall in love with her and then break his heart as revenge for her parents' death. Then came the part with dad abusing her and mom watching away. Damn... Can't say it wasn't a great way of storytelling...
With the last part of the nurses mentioning them looking like father and daughter makes you wonder if she's also doing it because her "dad" "trained" her
Yeah it's very vague but when you realise it hits you hard, all in al it's a quite dark story since her parents die and she was freed from living the abuse but at the same time she is also kinda broken.
Quite the seemingly complicated relationship they have, considering the accident and those involved.
But it just gets more convoluted when you consider her family life, being raped and abused by her father and she's actually thankful to him for 'saving' her from it.
That last page though...Like father and daughter, huh. Somehow I found this phrase somewhat ironic. Makes me wonder if that's why she decided to come onto him, though I would like to think otherwise.
"As long as you keep living, something good is bound to come along"?
I suppose in this case, it kind of applies to the both of them. He saved her from a life of abuse, and she quite possibly might become the reason he goes on. I really can only wish the best for these two people.
Mistletoe are a parasitic plant. They attach to other plants and absorb water and nutrients from them. Ultimately it's a pun given the story of a girl who is finding a new host to seek comfort. That's my take from it.
