I think guys can rationalize just as much as women to justify an affair, but I think men don't do it in a way where they absolve themselves of guilt. Like a guy might say "My girlfriend has been kind of cold to me recently, so I'm going to cheat on her. It's shitty to do, but I'm gonna explode otherwise." A woman might be more like "My boyfriend has been kind of cold to me recently, so I'm going to cheat on him. Really, isn't it better that I sleep with someone else than break up with him? I mean that would hurt him more anyway."

I meant that in this situation Honoka might tell herself it's better to cheat on her fiance with one of his best friends instead of a stranger. Like that would somehow be less painful for him and thus her affair isn't as bad. I didn't mean that a woman would prefer her fiance to cheat with one of her friends.

@db0ssman Ok, gotcha. Yeah, that's a possible rationalization she could make. And yup, I also don't see a guy thinking that. I don't think there's a time guys rationalize cheating at all. We just have a lack of perspective and self-control, turn off the noggin, and let the body go into cruise control.

IMHO, Honoka's revelation at the close potentially renders the 'Cheating' tag as invalid for this story ... unless one wants to adopt the position that Hayato should have been consulted on the matter, also. 🤔

It would have been a loaner-type, non-cheating scenario if she and we, the readers, knew that Hayato would have been ok with it...but since it looks like he most likely didn't know, there is the very logical sentiment that he most likely would not have been ok with it.

Of course Hayato should have been consulted. I walked into this thinking they were gangbang buddies where two had settled into a relationship only to find she had never had another penis. Cheating on your fiancé a month before the wedding because you are curious about what you might be missing is a major red flag.
