I'm glad this didn't devolve into some stupid "knock up my wife" story. To be honest, I'm more than a little tired of those kinds of stories. This one was sweet and engaging. Hopefully we'll see more gems like this.

At first glance, I was tempted to say like Ringo Starr in the "Yellow Submarine" movie that the seeming issue of being unable to conceive was "... all in the mind". Notwithstanding, it's probably a very serious matter for some folks, not only in Japan, but outside. So then, if the artist wants to depict this couple going to rather extreme methods to finally bear a child, who am I to object?
