In my opinion, it's kind of a stretch to call this a vanilla comic. Both characters were bad, and the story goes by too fast without any substance. He fucked up, they see each other again, they sleep together, and that's it. The use of alcohol also doesn't sit well with me. He almost stuck it in her when she told him not too, and now she's okay with it? I don't know why, but this whole comic just rubs me the wrong way. All of Umakuchi Shouyu's other comics are great, but this one is a flop for me.
So he basically rapes her in highschool, she's so traumatized she refuses to speak to him for years and then he "hooks up" with her while she's plastered and he's 100% sober? Plot was super creepy TBH.
I shamelessly must admit that I am a very picky reader. However, this story was really good and cute. In fact I wouldn't mind a sequel with these two, to see how they're doing. It's heart warming seeing these two reunited and more mature to handle the things they attempted in the past.
Great story. Also, never go grocery shopping hungry. Always bring a chair to the furniture store. Buy clothes in a swimsuit. I'm not clear on the rules
I loved the girl's design and how the story feels almost human.
How the start panned out and how it was dealt with left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. The MC is giving the girl, who clearly is not yet used to sex, some foreplay and she slaps him when he goes too far, preventing him from basically raping her. She ignores him for the best part of years without ever addressing it so they unofficially break up. Which is I guess a natural understandable response. How do you deal with that? What do you say to them?
The more I think about it, the more I think this is actually really good storytelling and more down to earth than most; an issue between a couple is handled poorly because they're young and stupid and rather than talk about it, completely ignore each other. So it's never addressed and they break up over it. They meet years later and rekindle their long-lost romance and her attitude towards him is one of unspoken forgiveness. Her past hinted sexual experiences gave her the courage to try again, and even encouraged him to pump baby gravy into her.
Maybe I'm thinking too much into it but that's why I really quite like this one. It invoked negative feelings that weren't because of fat guys blackmailing pretty young girls.
This one Pisses me off. Girl basically shit stormed out on him in the worst way possible...didn't even talk to him for years after that, doesn't say shit, comes back, fucks you dirty in a car, then leaves in 2 days. Even said all she thought about was him, but just ignored him straight up in high school and college? She's not worth all the pain imo.
If you told me Homunculus drew this I would believe it. Frankly the way they split up leaves me with a rather bitter emotion. I kinda need that complete make-up to get the closure I'm looking for.
Hmm...A pretty heartrending (unofficial?) breakup, but I guess at least it allowed for a nice, sweet reunion between the two later on. Still, alcohol...Yeah, I guess alcohol gave them a good reason to start having sex in the car, though I'm sure even without alcohol it'd have happened. I wonder what Vanilla filled alcohol tastes like.
Makes me wonder if this artist is influenced by them in any way.
