This tag is long overdue, and I don't understand why such a common
trope is missing. It's not restricted to hentai, either. Every manga series
has an "onsen chapter," and every anime series has an "onsen episode."

The trope is so common that characters often make meta-jokes about it.
"Hey, everyone, we're doing the obligatory hot spring episode this week!
Let's get naked for the fans!"

(Sometimes it's a beach episode or bathhouse episode. It's all the same
thing: an excuse to provide some fanservice for the viewers.)
